I need advice, how would I go about getting in touch with dealerships to try and locate a specific Tacoma? I apparently want a unicorn of a vehicle. I really don't feel the need for the double cab that most Tacoma's tend to be. But I do not want alot of extra options, the entune prem is for the backup sonar as I feel it will save me that much money anyways. Thoughts? Suggestions?

    7558 - SR5 ACCESS CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO.................... $ 28622 | $ 30530 * +338/+360
    DN - SR5 Appearance Pkg w/ Entune Prem/Park (V6)..... $ 1447 | $ 1625

build it on Toyota's website and send the pdf to a boatload of dealers asking them if they can order this truck by altering a truck in allocation. Also ask for invoice pricing. This is what I did and here is how it went. Emailed about 40 dealers out of state and the dealer had a trd sport dclb 4x4 due to them in allocation. They were able to modify the order and have them change the color and add the tech package with JBL on my truck. It's a pretty easy process and you shouldn't have any issues if you can find a dealer that wants your business.

email the internet department of as many dealers as you can. Either build it on Toyota's website and send them the build or just use the chart at the top of this page to find the model number and packages and write them that. Make a stock email text in Word and use Toyota's dealership search to find the closest dealers to your area code. Go down the list and hold control+shift when you click the dealership link and it will open in a new tab. Open as many as possible and then go to each page and find the contact link. Copy the email text and send off as many emails as possible.

I had about half of the 95 dealers respond. None of them would help me order one for anything less than 3000 over msrp...

I only see 1500 for the tow package and appearance package. What are you looking at?

you're lucky they haven't offered you the TX Special garbage with the Texas Star badges, Texas Star floor mats, and ugly wheels....

you can turn those off, unless you are seeing trucks on lots or in allocations. Dealers can request what you want in the system

most dealers don't want to order you a truck because they are only interested in selling a truck TODAY. They don't give two shits about future money, they only want it now. That's why you email internet departments because they care about future money more than any salesman on the floor.

Anyone else notice the Toyota Inventory(not the Toyota Build site) search doesn't let you specify 4x2 vs 4x4? Or is that just me?

I have to click on each vehicle and look for the model code in the URL to figure out what drive type it is....

YES, also alot of the local dfw dealer ships dont upload photos of their tacomas. they just have stock generic photos. It is rather annoying.

Just got an email from a local dealership, he has a black access cab sr5 4x4 coming in at the end of the month.

Has the towing package and Sr5 package , has some running boards and a few other things. He offered to chop 1000 off the invoice.
This would put it down to $31,433 +TTL&A instead of $33,842 +TTL&A

    Opinions?

    Thanks,
    Ross

Okay, so what should I be shooting for? I honestly feel like that was a good offer. Where do we go from here? Never negotiated or anything before.

I just used the master list for a DCLB SR5 4x4. I added sr5 app package and all weather lines and sill protection. the invoice on that is 31041

Use the master list on page one and add everything up that comes with that truck. that will give you the true invoice

    I came up with 30,648

    Sr5 4x4 access cab - 28622
    sr5 package - 1447
    towing package - 579

which is all I want, but it also has these from what I see
    shark running boards - 365
    exhaust tip - 60
    mats - 149

that all comes up to 31,222 using the master list here.

you want the lowest price possible. He said he is knocking off 1000 from MSRP. There is no way he is selling that for 1000 less than stated invoice.

What the hell is that Vehicle Protection Package? Are they planning to charge you for Toyota Care? Please give us a price break down. You probably don't want those shitty tube steps
