I took mine off... I just used the existing holes, but needed to drill another set in for stability. Looks way better without that monster plastic holder.

Opinions do vary! I prefer the existing stock setup.

I didn't think the stock was all that bad nor intrusive. After reading this thread, I went out and looked at the front end again.
I think it looks fine 'as-is' .....the downward looking plate seems 'off' to me.

I just took mine off when the dealer plates came off. I though it looked like a big hemroid hanging off the front of the truck. Not sure if the cops give you too much grief but in California they will only bother you if you do something dumb or if you give them a reason to screw with you.

Never been pulled over for no front plates. Been pulled over for other things, but never cited for no front plates. Been driving for many moons and in many cars. No issues. Maybe if you look like a thug.....

In California if you get pulled over then they will go look for the front plate.

Never my experience. Always got a ticket for something, but never for missing the front plate and I;ve been pulled over by CHP and local piggies.

In California, if you do not have a plate on the front, they will look for other deficiencies.

That will teach you to park at LAX. There was a thread about 2nd gen tailgates being stolen from trucks parked at LAX.

Any clearer details on how you mounted it? Looks way better then on the front bumper.

Thankfully in Arkansas we do not have to have the hideous front plate. The very first thing I did was take that crap off the front.

I'm in California, been running no front plate on all my vehicles since I got my license 25 years ago. Never once have I been ticketed or pulled over for it. Knock on wood but F that front plate, I just slide it under my front seat. If I ever get hassled I will just say I bumped into something and it fell off, haven't had time to reinstall.
