To add to your absolutely correct statement, let me quote them:

"...The study shows that problems with vehicle audio, communication, entertainment, and navigation (ACEN) systems now account for 20% of all customer-reported problems. Furthermore, ACEN is now the most problematic area on most vehicles, and is the apparent cause of a 3% year-over-year decline in customer satisfaction with vehicle dependability."

So yes, they separate and classify issues and also study issue impact on customer satisfaction.

Why do so many Tacoma owner feel threatened by the Ridgeline? It's kind of like worrying about your wife's gay guy friends.

Hahahah. My thoughts exactly. I think it's the same buyer that Subaru appeals to. I hear a lot of Subaru comparisons on here as well.

We have a Pilot and I like it. That said, there is NOTHING truck-like about it. When my wife was out of town, I put a set of All Terrain tires on it. It was undrivable, and I had to swap out for a set of Michelin touring tires 2 days later.

Maybe they are major shareholders in Toyota Motor Corp (TM)? Nice yield at 3.15% btw. I might look into buying.

Funny except the Sport offers nothing over the TRD OR...so the hybrid of the two trucks would offer nothing more than the TRD OR already does. Except the fake scoop.

...^^^... I think (but am not sure) that some of those 1970's and 1980's Toyota truck beds were actually made in the USA and mounted here after arriving at the port.

Toyota did this to get around the 25% import tariffs imposed by the US government to protect US truck manufacturers at that time. .......
..... We did the same thing with certain items on Fire Trucks and Military Speciality Vehicles manufactured in Canada that were imported into USA.

Later, those pickup tariffs were dropped.

Not completely sure but this link says the beds were Japanese design.

    http://www.popularmechanics.com/car...otive-engineering-failures-toyota-truck-rust/

I think the trucks and beds were imported separately, trucks as "incomplete vehicles" to get around the tariffs, the beds imported separately on the same ship as "parts" then assembled as per the customer order.

I know that the Wranglers have amazing resale.
I also know they are pretty unreliable.

What I DON'T understand is, how is such a simple vehicle so unreliable? We are not talking about a CL63 AMG here. I just don't get it

Yup my sister drives E63 AMG. Dad drives a CL63 AMG.

They spank that monkey till day before warranty. Post warranty, all it will do is spank your wallet.

...^^^... very good point ... is it their OEM supplied parts or is it their vendor supplied parts ??

Especially with the MTBFT (Mean Time Between Failure Tests) if you can see them ... that will tell the exact story of "why".

That Article was from January 2015, don't see how that has any impact on 2016 Models, looks like GM has been having trouble with keeping up with capacity and is adjusting itself to fit current demands.

Tundra sales are way down so a smart Company like Toyota would take advantage of that by producing more Tacoma's to take up the slack. When they cant keep up with Camry production they let Subaru build them as it would be foolish to lose sales.

Gas will be cheep for about another 10 years. Unconventional drilling in the US will keep prices down.
