Installed Toyota All Weather rubber tub style mats. Things stared out well, dealership took my unused carpet ones, offered me $80 to offset the price. Was a bit concerned ordering when they told me there was no option for auto/manual and that it fits either. Put them in....Fail. The portion that covers the dead pedal is way too fat, catches every time the clutch is depressed. Thought I would save a few bucks, should have gone with Husky. Way to go Toyota. If you have an Auto, these are actually pretty nice. Steer clear if you have a manual.

Ordered the Fumoto valve and the aluminum oil filter housing. Some pennzoil ultra platinum oil and a pennzoil filter. Getting things in line for a 3010 mile drive literally across the country first part of November. Figured I will do a thread in this forum and chronicle the trip. See how many 3rd gen owners I can run into. Thinking about going across pretty much the center of this great country, from Boston to San Diego. This will be my ride. image.jpgimage.jpg

I'm not a fan of the passenger side either. Everytime someone gets in our out, the mats move. I tried to put some velcro under the mat (the velcro sticks to the carpet well) but won't stick to the rubber mat.

I just did the Louisiana to Edwards CA about two weeks ago. I don't envy you lol If you run through the Edwards area give me a shout!

Gather round boys and gals cause Techman's got a story to tell. So I dropped her off at the dealership last night to have the ATF and squaking checked. Get a call this morning and the transmission was low (shocker) by not a pint or half a quart, but a whopping 1.5 quarts. And on top of that when checking out the front end and the frame mounts near the radiator the mechanic found 2 extra radiator clips pinched between the radiator and the frame. Not sure how the hell Texas managed to do that but luckily they took care of it...8,000 miles after the fact.

Now the big news today is that the Mid-Atlantic big cheese will be stopping by my dealership to take a look at things and I plan to give him my two cents. Second bit of news, apparently Toyota corporate has released a service bulletin for all 2016 Tacoma owners that they may (HAH!) have low transmission fluid and should come in to have their vehicles serviced.

I am happy my dealership took care of my issues and didn't treat me like I was some babbling idiot like I've seen other people's experiences on here, but now for the next 50,000 miles I am going to be worried that my transmission will run into some sort of issue due to having low fluid during the break-in period. Sorry for the rant but figured I'd share my experience.

Took mine in for a 5k service today, and asked to have the ATF checked. Service guy says "There's no dip stick so we can't check it"...well no shit. The sky is blue, and I'm authorized to tell you that because I'm a weather man. Now please check it.

Needless to say, I'm finally feeling the pain others have/are feeling...

I bought 265/75r16 Toyo ATII at the dealership "really good deal" when I bought my truck, and they bought the stock tires that came on my truck, but they wouldn't install my new tires for me because "it wasn't the size on the window sticker,"

I've made that similar trip twice from New Orleans to Fresno in the last year. I highly recommend avoiding the route thru El Paso. Stay the higher route. Enjoy the ride!!

We only went through El Paso because a friend lives there. I also don't recommend that route if it's able to be avoided lol

More to see (weird roadside wonders) than on I-10. It's just boring, flat, dessert punctuated by lots of immigration officers and inspection stations.

Looking to replace my spare tire and wheel to match the others (BFG KO2 & TRD Pro Wheels). Anyone have any success squeezing a 265x75x16 under the bed? At first glance it seems like it will fit but wanted to double check before investing :)
