4.88 gears being put on tonight. May be a little over kill for my dd and hwy travels but, no more lagging when I'm loaded for camping and wheeling.

Finally got the new tires on. Rubbing the frame much harder than I thought. Got 1.25" wheel spacers on the freshly painted stock wheels with 315/75r16 cooper s/t maxx.

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

My buddy has 2.25" bora spacers I can borrow for a bit. I'm thinking 1.75" is all I would need though.

Very nice, man! Did you say that you still need to trim the bed sides?

Stock wheels are 5" bs right? So a 2.25" spacer will put me at 2.75". You think I'll need more? Sucks knowing that even if I got SCS f-5's w/ 3.5" bs that id still need a spacer.

Yeah bed sides still need to be cut. I gotta take the bumper off to do it and taking it on and off is a two man job. Gotta enlist a buddy for help.

    Stock wheels are 4.5" BS.

There's no good options for wheels for 1st gens with enough backspacing to clear the frame on larger tires.

That being said I've been running wheel spacers for tens of thousands of miles and haven't had any issues.

Yea I have been running spacers for 5 years. Get extended threaded lugs. That helps.

    4.5" is stock wheels.

If you got f5s then you could keep the 1.25" spacers and be good.

Two extremely different styles of camping. Goin to have to figure out which way suits you best. Pros and cons to both.

So I did hammered the punch weld down per a guide . And cut away some of the inner plastic fender . Still getting rub .

Do people just remove the inner plastic and leave the flare ?
I'm tempted to just remove it all and plug the holes

Looking awsome man! Those tires look like there going to eat those bedsides though!
I have 1.5" spacers on a 16x8 wheel and I still hit the frame just before full lock. 1.75 should do nice for you

Mind if I ask what wheel and BS, tire, and spacer you're running, Brett?
