Hi Guys... a few of you know me, so I am letting you know I will be giving a short lecture and PowerPoint slide show on the missions and travel in Baja California... It is this Thursday at 7 pm, Liberty Station. There is a small seating fee that the Discover Baja club collects ($5) to pay for room rental, but my new book will be discounted if you buy a copy. You need to R.S.V.P. as the room is not large. Come and see some Baja (there are some Tacoma off roading photos) and learn how California was discovered and occupied by Spain, long before San Diego was established!

The PowerPoint (slide) show is this Thursday, 7 pm to 8 pm, Liberty Station. There are still available seats as of today, so RSVP if you would like to come. I have added photos that I took at Mission San Fernando two days ago to the presentation.
Both books will be available for sale and signing, and are discounted to offset the small seating charge Discover Baja is collecting for room rental.

I look forward to meeting you. Members or non-members of Discover Baja are welcome...

    R.S.V.P. to: ask@discoverbaja.com or 800-727-2252.

    Hi and thank you!
    YES!!
The books are available directly from the publisher (us) or at a few area distributors.

$29.95 is the list price, but the publisher (M&E Books) does not add domestic shipping or sales tax. You order the book (and others at http://oldmissions.com ).

At the presentation, the new book is being sold at a discount ($25), otherwise at the Discover Baja Travel Club office in San Diego, on Governor Drive at the regular list price.

The two books are also for sale at the Mission San Luis Rey Gift Shop, in Oceanside, next to the mission.

In addition, the new book is sold at SDSU Aztec Bookstore (call ahead to confirm) and at Sunbelt Publications in El Cajon. http://sunbeltpublications.com/shop/baja-california-land-of-missions/

    Thank you for your interest!
See the books' Facebook page for a look inside: www.oldmissions.com

Awesome, I hope you like it... and I will be happy to answer questions... I think we will have a fair showing... What happened in Baja California 200-300+ years ago was amazing considering how rugged and remote it was (and much still is today)!

California's second mission, San Javier. Founded in 1699!

Any good self-service locations with a power washer?

Where specifically are you located? I usually use google maps and type in self serve car wash and they come up.

I'm in Scripps. I did that, too, and saw some in Clairemont and such but then I saw the Yelp reviews and there're a bunch of complaints of broken machines stealing money, machines just not working, and/or signs saying no dirty trucks.

I want to do a Moto tour of the missions, that would be awesome! Or the Jeep would be fun too..good stuff David!

Just go in the daytime when there is a worker there. But its hard to know exactly when that is sooo. I bought an HF power washer so I can do it at home!
