While it's no V8 M3, I did trade off a 2014 328i (relatively quick and similar utility to an M3) for my truck. I actually don't miss the 328i except for the ZF automatic with paddle shifts. I wish the Taco had a true manual mode where it held the manually selected gear (as opposed to me specifying the top gear). All in all, I am really enjoying the utility of the truck and would not return to a 328 or 340. As a side benefit, when you do eventually get another "fun car", driving the Tacoma daily will make your fun car feel like it has another 50 HP on the weekends. It certainly has had that effect with me.

I have driven them... I know all about the V8 M3. Thus I said "it is no V8 M3".

    Not exactly.

For a number of years I ran 3 vehicles with 2 drivers. A modest CUV for road trips, dry hauling small things, 4 passengers, etc. A modified sports car as a commuter/autox/HPDE/toy, and a semi beater small PU for fishing/biking/home project duty.

I loved having purpose focused vehicles.

And for the price of a new Tacoma, it's not hard to have all 3, if you are a good shopper, a good DIY'r, and are willing to buy well used.

Believe it or not, TCO on 3 good choices competes well with one new ride, and is a whole lot more fun.

...........previous to being able to have multiple vehicles for me and the missus, there were 4 around when the kids were teens. Prior to that, at least one of the two family rides had a hitch, and for many years I used a homemade utility trailer to serve as my 'truck' for hauling duties. It would haul about anything a standard small truck would, and was way cheaper/practical at that stage of life.

Lol thread derail! I know a guy around me with a similar BMW garage, don't have pictures on me though.

I'm not in any rush but browsing the forums has been extremely helpful. Seeing that the TRD Pro is coming peaked my interest. Are there any real changes from the current to 2017 TRD Offroads?

Doesn't have room for two vehicles... so you suggest buying 3?

Lol this. Possible for me to have 2+ and I have for a while but relocating where I'd have to find storage if I had more than one. More of a headache than its worth to do so for me right now.

I know a guy who picked one up not too long ago from my BMW dealer. It's a great car but I'd rather a 991 GT3 for the price... :boink:

Not sure, most people already have them from what I've seen on the forums. This was United BMW in Roswell, GA.

I don't have any regrets. But I get the itch bad when some mother fucker won't get out of my way! Or When I come up on a Prius. I used to love doing flybys on a Prius. Just because...

not too bad, the big change to overcome is the lack of power and handling - but its a truck. I have learned to slow down.

    Anyone seen my wallet?
This. Ive adjusting to just not being in such a hurry to get everywhere but enjoying the show of shit drivers who are. I still have the Monster 796 in the garage to that will scratch the sport itch pretty quick.

One thing no has mentioned yet about going from BMW to Taco are the damn sensors and dash warnings. For the past 4 years I have never opened the hood to check the level of anything, so this will be a change. BMWs have about a million and a half sensors, incredibly convenient for maintaining the vehicle. Im going to have to use a dip stick again??? NOOOO!!!!!!!!! The Taco doesnt tell you exactly which tire is low or regulate the wipers on its own? I have to turn my headlights on manually? Fml.

The worst is the radio volume. I listen to my music loud, but the bmw always sets it to a low volume after you turn the radio or car off. Sometimes I still jump when i start the taco and volume is where i left it the last time.

I'm so used to them I failed to think about this... The sensors are annoying at times but very convenient. Not sure I like the oil sensor since its not accurate when doing oil changes. The autowipers are great... guessing the Taco wont have adaptive headlights either? Probably my favorite feature... had mine coded to the euro model and the beams get wider/narrower depending on speed.
