I wish it fit the SR5, the bezels are slightly different in size and part number.

 

You should be able to get a dashkit from an audio store near you that would be able to fit it, as long as the spot is large enough

 

I want it to look stock though, I could replace the dash piece part number but its $213, that's a lot of dough.

I mean for what it's worth I paid $20 for my dash kit front local audio store. It came painted the same black as the interior comes with because it was designed for the taco and is virtually unnoticeable with my pioneer avic head unit installed with it! That's just my experience though I can post a pic of it when im back in my truck again but it looks clean and offers all the same functions but with MUCH improved sound quality AND apple car play

 

Did it maintain steering wheel controls and you can see the playlist, etc. in your instrument gauge? Would like to keep those features and would LOVE to have apple carplay.

 

I did manage to maintain the steering wheel controls, don't honestly know if the track appears on my instrument gauge because i always have it set to display MPH and ODO or tire pressure lol. I would think if anything I might have lost that capability, but i rarely need to actually look and see what song is playing though so for me I don't notice the instrument gauge song title display

 

If you don't mind seeing if it works in the instrument cluster I'd appreciate it

 

just checked, my head unit does NOT retain this functionality, however mine is the most basic of the pioneer double din touch screen head units, there is the AVIC NEX 6100 and 8100 units that have more features than mine.

Also, there are the full 7" touch screen models that would fill up that entire space as the stock head unit does and not require a dash kit to fit properly, but those ones start at like $1000 and I wasn't trying to spend that much just for an extra inch of screen.

It does have connectivity for a backup camera if you have one, or a spot to hook up an auxiliary one for another 60-70 bucks when you go in to have the rest done which was an awesome feature I thought... Overall I am very pleased with the head unit. The one thing I will warn you about is the bluetooth connectivity is not as robust YET as the stock head unit, as they are currently working on a software update to play nice with the brand new IOS. If you have android you should be good, or if you never update your iPhone you'll be good, but those with the new iPhone software like myself may experience occasional connectivity issues such as lag time in connection when you first start the truck, and the occasional random skip.

As i mentioned, a software update is in the works right now to resolve it, or if you just use a USB cable then no connectivity issues! Also, apple car play is only supported over USB so if you wanted to take advantage of this feature then bluetooth is a moot point for you
