Got an an email today. Iac valve is discontinued.

 

Have one side done. 9 holes later. Thing is pretty stout actually. I can hang on it with no issues. More then strong enough for what I'm asking of them. Turned out great! I'll have real photos later and write as usual.

Not bad. But wrong style. And I couldn't fit them on the back.

 

What happened to the roof rack you had? I think it was off a 4runner

 

Just have to say. Best looking 1st gen I've ever seen! Killer job.

 

Still have all three.

Might try and retro fit some of the crossmembers.

Also got my nose cone bearings pressed in and drilled a tapped a new fill hole for oil. Gonna assemble it tonight and try and get it bolted on maybe tonight.

So nothing new for the boost. Was spraying up in the mountains all week. Was fun other then I wrecked a 4wheeler. Chewed my hands and knees up good. Had a helmet on thank god.

Got Frankenstein aligned today. Toe was way off. Everything else was fine though.



Going camping now. Will start the blower install on Sunday. New plugs and wires are enroute and bought a scepter gas can too. Hope it fit my custom gas can holder.

Any chance you have pics of your roof with the headliner out of the way? I've got a project that I've been putting off cause I'm not really sure what I'll get into trying to pull the headliner. What's involved in the disassembly process? Also, did you just leave it out or were you able to reinstall it? Thx. '96 FTW

 

I think I read that once it is removed completely, there is no putting it back in. Removal involves having to cut the liner unless you also remove the rear window.

 

So does it just unhook somehow at the windshield? If I could just let it hang by the rear window that would be all I really need

 

If it's the vinyl headliner, it's probably similar, if not exactly like my pickup. I had to carefully peel it from the rubber cement-like adhesive holding it to the frames for the windshield and rear window. The middle is supported with flat steel bars that come out easily.

Yup, vinyl headliner. It has the bow rods supporting it too. So peel back and just re-apply with an adhesive of some sort?

Keep in mind I had to remove the windshield too.

They usually put in the headliner before the windshield in the factory just in case you were curious.

These old tacomas look quite a bit different than the acuras I've messed with. They didn't have any type of support. Just the cardboard headliner
