Actually reading comprehension is useful. MOST complaints about the transmission are not solved by fluid level adjustments, because there are many who are surprised that their automatic transmission....wait for it...shifts automatically! Wow! What a concept.

There are owners that think a 4200 lb truck with 278 HP V6 should be able to run 75 mph up a mountain in 6th gear.

    Yeah, what a fucking joke.

The only thing wrong with my power train is the transmission shift logic and throttle response - both computer problems that can be fixed. I bet there will be a flash available sometime after the 2017's roll out.

Yeah, you only read one or two threads on it. Plenty of complaints about it popping into gears instead of smooth shifts, delayed shifting when changing from R to D, slipping transmissions, and RPM spikes between gears.

For those guys/gals that say "my tranny is fine"... have you actually verified the fluid level manually....?
If not, you may be hitch-hiking  and looking for a ride, as soon as the warranty expires... and by the way I won't pick you up..! hehehe

    Good luck guys/gals..:)

Any vehicle is going to downshift when losing a bit of speed going up a type of incline. The vehicle drops gear and revs up of course it's going to hunt a little because it's monitoring the speed sensors and the actually speedometer along with Rpm. Toyotas tend to rev up on cruise after dropping 2-3 mph. Most of there motors have no low end torque, so it needs to drop a gear or two to get it going. I installed a cruise control on a base SR 4 cylinder and it didn't seem any different than any other Toyota. I'm not saying some people don't have legitament concerns but I feel a lot of this is completely blown out of proportion

Yep, manual checked (watched the tech do it), was good to go, shifted fine from day one, think your exaggerating a bit there with the hitch hiking, 3/4 low isn't going to burn up a transmission, especially since its recommended to change the fluid at 5 yr/60k.

Just tryin' to warn ya'll... if its low it may not be "right"... I've read that today's trannys operate in very close tolerances..

You R right ... I'd pick up any Taco guy/gal on the side of the road..!! (maybe even a ford guy)...eugh.!!

Oh agree, thats why I had them do it, I have the tow package too, just odd that some are low, some are not, this is not new to the 16s though, 14 and 15 had the same issue.
