There might be something in the works
She didn't like the ride up to Big Bear huh?
I could easily be wrong, but I thought those were called angle grinders? :notsure:

The forum member that did mine used (@glorifiedwelder) a dremel type tool to cut the plastic, and to slice the pinch weld to be hammered down.

Not an angle grinder. This does not spin. It vibrates extremely fast. Very safe and handy. Cuts metal, wood, plastic, drywall.

Hmm weird. All the dremels I've seen spin. Never heard of one that just vibrates

It's not a Dremel, dremels spin on the center axis. This is a multi-tool

I think most people call it the multi tool. Dremel was the first company to distribute the multi tool in the US. Just a habit to call it a Dremel I guess

Actually fun fact Festool (german) is the company that created this and held the patent for 10+years, after that patent expired I believe it was craftsman that was the first to bring it to the states. Dremel is just a much more popular company for fine tools as this.

I usually use a body saw to trim fenders. Very controllable and easy to cut curves

Maybe. I never really look at craftsman power tools cause they suck.lol I remember when festool patent expired me and some of my coworkers were just waiting for everybody to make these. Mostly used it for under cutting door casing on flooring side jobs. I find good use for it hear and there.

Agreed. I had my festools for years, the second the patents were up, I sold them all and bought the American counterparts for 1/4 the cost. Craftsman sucks, I have the Milwaukee ones now since that's what we get deals on at the shop

I was all about makita for years but Milwaukee has some great stuff lately. I notice a lot of our guys getting em lately.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
If I wasn't busy I'd post the AvE videos where he pulls apart Mikita, Milwaukee, Dewalt... they're all pretty sad. Hahaha

I believe he was very impressed by a festool.

But in actuality the only thing he really praised I remember was a Hilti rotary hammer... they're >$1000.

We use all of those brands at work. We've gone thru dewalt, makita, Hilti, and millwaukee contracts. Hilti makes amazing tools. But for a private person and not a billion dollar utility some of their stuff is outrageous. Hilti replacement batteries are like $250

If you have an air compressor buy a body saw. Hands down. Even the junk harbor freight one will be just fine

Back on topic, I used an angle grinder (makita) to cut my body mount before I had it welded. Fresh razor blade for the plastics.

Off topic again, I was a huge makita fanboy for years until the batteries started to die out. I have all the hilti drills and I like them, they're not cutting edge nor lightweight, but I've dropped it off a fully extended scissor lift countless times and it's the only tool that's lasted this long. The Milwaukee tools are mediocre at best, but as stated, the shop gets killer deals on them, so free is good enough for me

    Back off topic...

Passed this Dude on my way home from work today. I think he was fascinated at the amount of pin stripping down the side of my truck.

He kept pulling along side me with his mouth wide open in disbelief. He finally gave me the thumbs up and took off.
