I might still, depending on if they want to work a deal or not, but the discussion was more about the market segment and value in various other options with the tacoma/tundra/f150 being the primary ones.

    Oooh, nice edit.

The gas mileage was one of the reasons I was looking at the RL, but the 3.5 ecoboost was pretty awesome. Yes V8 sounds cooler than V6.. but when it's a factory turbo that whines like a banshee and puts out 365hp and 420ftlb of torque it's kinda hard to say it doesn't sound and get up and go. It hauls ass and sounds great.

Huge dealership, but in my experience not the best place to get a decent deal. If you really want a good deal and I know it's a Toyota Tacoma forum and all, but Frontier's are pretty affordable now, especially with the new 2017-18 on the horizon. You could get a SV V6 Frontier King Cab for under 23K before TTL. You just have to deal with the interior that dates back to the early 2000's.

I'm keeping my eyes on the Ridgeline, maybe a the 2nd or third year model I'll give it a more closer look and the hype and prices dies down a bit.

Bottom line... it's a car with a shopping cart and cooler built into the arss end. Ooooooooooooooh... aaaaaaah!

It's has the potential to be really fucking cute, and after 24 beer I might even start to like it.

    Ummmmm... NO!

Maybe 25 beer and a face full of whiskey? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... no again.

Wear a short skirt, you might be able to talk them down in price.

I take it you're not a big fan of the Ridgeline?

    You are very astute.

That's a good thing, 'cause the world needs more stutes.

The thing I liked about the front's was that they provided some incentive for toyota to be competitive. lol I'm not into the style and I am into the features and style/feel which the nissan just doesn't appeal to me. I am looking at a top of the line 4x4 in any of these with nav etc so cheapest isn't a major concern but value is. I do like the RL but not enough to pay thousands more than a comparable tacoma/tundra.. thats just silly.

I'll chill and let it go.

    Thanks for the slap!

Read the original post dude... drink less. haha I LIKE the tacoma but that doesn't mean we all have to get tattoos with the three circles and sing the japanese national anthem when we wake up. We are actually allowed to discuss the midsize truck market segment. Cheers :proposetoast:

Now if you can hold out, the next gen EB with more HP/TQ will be hitting the F150 line after the Raptor debut. Also, an 8 speed transmission.

I believe only the Raptor will be getting the 10 speed that is shared with the ZL1 Camaro. The F150 is getting a new 8 speed from what I have read.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
Had both Ridgeline and Toyota trucks.

Ridgeline is great, but a SUV type truck with a nice bed and quality is excellent.

I personally like the Tacoma truck feel and Ridgeline was more SUV with a bed feel.

With all that said, I use my Tacoma 90% as a SUV ... but still like the truck feel of the Tacoma.

All of the ecoboost 3.5l will be getting the 10-spd auto. The lesser models will probably be getting the 8-spd.
