I'm going to call a Northshore coating place that does line x to see if they'll do the sliders, possibly the skids as well. Rebecca wants to see if I can get a grou price with her skids. Anyone else want in so I can get a quote?

My Polk MM6501 component speakers arrived today..no chance to play with them yet so I don't know how they sound but I am sure I will need/want an amp...No sense in having a Ferrari if you never take it out of second gear..So I was looking for a decent Amp and found the Sound Ordnance M100-2

It has some pretty good specs for a SUB $100 amp!
    S/N 100db
    THD 1%
    Fan Cooled
    RMS at least 110x2

I can't find anyone who has one....but it seems like a great deal..

I second this!! Powder coat and linex is just so costly for parts that will take a beating every time you hit the trails. A good prep job and good coverage and you're going to be just as happy with the results knowing how simple the fix is every time it needs it. How do you touch up linex or powder coat? I'm not even sure.

I know, I know, but I needed a half ton.
I did it a few years back.. It was definitely fun. Make sure you have everything on their required list or they won't let you on. My air pressure gauge had a mark for 5 psi, but didn't say 5 psi and they were busting my balls about it. (You are required to have an air pressure gauge that goes down to or below 5psi) Also be prepared to watch a 20 minute video about over sand driving.. Straight from the 80's

Also check their map of what's open.. Sometimes there isn't much so it's not worth it.

Yeah, I just checked the map. Seems like there's about only a mile open for driving. I'm going to pass on the pass this time around.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
X3 on rattle cans. Use a good primer like this (don't get it on your hands, wear gloves), stuff works great(and doesn't come off)! And then final coat with this. Stuff works awesome, looks great, lasts and if you do use/scratch your sliders/skids you can touch it up yourself.

Except RRG, she needs to Line-x so those skids so they look great parked at the car meets and in the garage.

The top side of my sliders are getting sprayed with Monstaliner because I got mine with the fill plates, but the skids and the business side of the sliders are just getting sprayed with paint.

Like Rob said prep and use the Duplicolor bed coating(not the bed liner), I got the bumpers powder coated and it wasn't worth the money after a year because I had to touch them up, the bed coating looks so much better and is easy to touch up and I just rattle canned the skids.

I agree... I used POR15 and top coated it with duplicolor spray on bed liner or maybe it was coating. Anyway, I would think powder coat/line X would be pricey and after a few years it would need to be recoated anyway.

I did the samething when I did mine and I would do it again. I cleaned the hell out of them, primed them, POR15 them and then top coated with the liner spray

Hm alright I'll give that stuff a shot - you think 6 cans of each is enough to do a good coating on 3piece skids and the sliders?

Yea I made the mistake of standing the sliders up against the wall in my basement. One started sliding and took the other one down with it and almost killed me as I was arranging the skids against the wall next to them.
