At least the first one to post.... I've been up and moving since 3:45. Busy day ahead. Boss is back in town and I know he'll have to make up for the 4 days of peace and quiet we've had while he was gone. :annoyed:

Scattered storms/rain all day. So what else is new. We hardly get 2 or 3 dry days in a week for the last few months.

Appointment @ 4PM tomorrow to get my 4th 5,000 mile tire rotation on the Duratracs. When I made the appointment, the sales guy said he'd check balance on all 4 this time. In 20,000 miles, there is less than 2/64th wear measured. I'm thinking these Duratracs are a MUCH better tire than some would indicate. Great wear characteristics. Gas mileage is as good as a Tacoma gets with 'em. Wet road characteristics are as good as any tire I've ever owned. What snow driving I got last winter they were fantastic.... And they do an excellent job off the road....clean well in mud, provide great traction, and with all the rocks I've bounced around on, not a single mark on the tires. Unless something changes drastically, they'll be on the truck for a LONG time.

Looks great! I'm happy that someone besides me still likes polished wheels and/or chrome! In an effort to show their "unique individualism", dang near EVERYONE has to paint everything black these days.....

i'm trying to keep it lighter i have p rated tires on truck now and they're fairly light so i was trying to find at least a c rated tire. i'm a little confused as to exactly what i want and i have some time. a buddy has been explaining the benefits of a tall skinny tire but to do that i'll have to get rid of what i've got and being a little old school i still kinda like the look of a wider tire

Wow. I did a quick search and eyeball of the specs.

It's halfway between an MT and an AT tire. Similar to the ST-Maxx's that I now have. It does have an aggressive look if that's what's you're going for. My gut feeling is that it would be a terrific on-road and off-road tire. The science of tire development has come a long way from 20 years ago. I suspect this tire to be designed for quiet on road manners and rugged, reliable and extreme traction off road.

It is a newly introduced tire, so no one has any real world experience, and the major off road publications don't have any testing and reviews on it.

I wouldn't shy away from the Nitto brand. It is a well known, high quality brand.

I would look at buying this tire if I knew about it prior to purchasing my ST Maxx's.

But... they don't come in 16"

Sorry Chris, i fell asleep early last night, i wrote a reply and never posted it:

"I have no experience with Nittos, they are a tire I want to try. And those look great, of course they don't come in a 16."

that's kinda my thinking. i'm in no way hung up onname brands i was looking at the st maxx because i've been running coopers for years and love them. the st maxx is a great all around tire i only shy away from it because in my size it only comes in an e rated tire. i won't really need tires until winter i hope so it'll give me a little time to research these some more. maybe i'll email nitto and see if they need a test truck ha ha
