Went through the search function and couldn't find any help on this.

I had new rims and tires put on yesterday and had them swap over the TPMS sensors. The TPMS light on the dash is off, however the screen shows dashes instead of actual tire pressure in the system.

Anyone else had to deal with this? Fix?

FACTS: I have a 2016 TRD Sport DCSB and have tired the reset button.

I just had this problem, but I had new sensors put in. I had to have them put the old oem sensors back in due to the truck being to new, not even the dealership could program the new sensors. If you have the oem sensors in, drive over 30 for a little while and they should learn.

I've probably put on about 90 miles since yesterday and still nothing..... weird. They are the OEM sensors as well.

Wow, I had good luck at the discount tire by me. If you have one close, i'd stop there and see if they could help you. From what I learned, the tpms button on the dash only resets the median pressure once they are actually learned by the car. Are the sensors the originals or OEM replacement?

They swapped the OEMs directly from the OEM wheels to the new ones.

Wow, I have no idea then. Dealership do it for you?

I see no reason why you should have a problem then. They are a discount tire company. Hopefully someone else has a fix on here. Sorry man

Yup its gonna take a few days then all of a sudden poof you have pressure readings. The clue is the warning light is NOT lit. Try going over 70 for a short distance say a few miles - that's what did it for me. Oh and there's a few threads on this ... FYI.

To the guy that put on new sensors and had to swap....

The procedure is read the sensor codes is:
    1) read new codes
    2) program the new codes into the truck ECU
    3) press re-set button on dash by drivers left knee
    4) drive truck over 70mph = problem solved

For some reason the dealerships and discount tire did not have the updated information to program the new codes into the truck. I'm hoping they will have the new update soon for others in my area. Hopefully your info helps him out.

I had my dealer do mine... they didn't know how to program it really and winged it - they did figure out my new codes and plugged them in but didn't know I needed to drive the truck over 70. The manual says 35 for 20 minutes but that didn't work for me - only after I went +70 did the pressures show up.

Purchased a new set of wheels and tires from tirerack.com and I ordered the sensors to be included since I had them balanced at tirerack.

Took it to the dealership to get them to relearn the sensors and they were going to charge me $85.00 Per Hour to work on the tires!!! they said if the computer didn't automatically pick up on the sensor then they would have to break down each tire and it would take a minimum of two hours!!! WTF

Just put 5 psi of air in my tires made the pressure reading "--". But once I got on the freeway they started reading again.

That is true. Been through this headache already. After the first rotation and re-set of the TPMS, I have dashes again. Going to leave it that way. This is not rocket science, and Toyota really needs to figure this out.
