Well that's as easy at looking at your truck and seeing if the back windows are darker than the front. Regardless, you can tint over it. I had 20% put on over it, and now it's nice and dark. Around 5%

That factory tint is built into the windows I believe, and isn't a film over it. If it's not, and it is a film, well I had mine tinted and have no problems. Looks great too.

The back windows are darker than the front from the factory however there is NO factory tint. So darkness is not an indication of tint being present.

OP if your truck is stock and has no dealer tint add ons then there is no tint to remove.

I just consider anything darker than clear to be tint.

So yes op, they're darker but no actual film, like I stated earlier.

Here are some older pics that show it pretty well. This is with 35% front and 20% rear. With the 20% over the factory tint, it brought it around 5%.

All depends where you're located and the laws. I got mine done in VA darker than legal, but I was about to move to FL where I knew I'd need it. Here they don't care at all.

In most states window film is a secondary offense. Meaning they have to pull you over for speeding of a lamp out or something like that first then can write a ticket for illegal film. Don't quote me on that to be true for all states. Your local window film shop can tell you your local laws but I'm fairly sure that it's nothing to worry about unless you drive like a bat outta hell all the time.

Has anyone here had any luck with getting pre-cut tint for the front windows and d.i.y.ing it? There are no tint shops close to me, and i would like to put a legal tint on the front windows. Our windows are pretty flat, so i don't think I would need to shrink much of the tint with a heat gun to match the curve of the windows.

Nope, not problems at all! And 28 is only for the front. I think the rear is like 10

Cops typically don't bother trucks with tints...unless it's a douchey looking truck( monster stickers, tinted tail lights, rockstar rims) . My 2013 Altima (piece of crap) was pulled over at least 30 times in one year with 20% all the way around. On my truck I have 20% over the factory tinted rears and 20% over the fronts.I think the truck looks great and keeps the interior much cooler. I Haven't had a problem yet with da donut patrol in my truck and I live in NJ where 90% of the cops have nothing better to do than give you shit for tints, no front plate, etc. and wait for their overfunded retirement programs.

I've been pulled over while driving the speed limit. The officer told me the windows were too dark and the only reason why I was stopped. He then reached in the back to pet my dog and told us to have fun at the the beach. No ticket, just a small inconvenience.
