    I saw that there were longer bracket options available. Figured I would have to be lucky to get exactly the right length though, more likely I'd need to either trim it down or weld an extension on. What are you running right now?

    I just sent my guy an email for an update on everything. Haven't heard from him for about a week and I'm hoping no snags. I'll have my people get in touch with your people once more is known :spy:

    I ordered the 5 inch extension with the intent of cutting it down. I'm thinking I'll probably use the lower part with the radius already trimmed into it and just make my own holes or weld the extension on. That will probably leave me enough material left over to give another member a good deal on the remaining portion of the bracket - unless there's not enough left.

    I bought U-Bolts online for $35. Estimate the length by measuring from the bottom of your axle housing to the top of your Dakars and by longer. I think I got Pro Comps. Test fit the U-bolts and and the TC plate with your springs installed and then mark the correct length on the U-bolt threads with a sharpie and then cut them to size.

    so even though firestone is saying not to use the daystar cradles with the #2407 bags it seem to be the way everyones going huh? you would probably need longer brake lines with bags and rear 3 leaf aal im assuming...

    So with the daystar cradles your airbag is not connected to your axle/ leafsprings at all times as firestone intended, making for a less stiff ride. Is that correct? So when the bag is not in use (contacting cradle) it almost looks like it would act as a bumpstop?

    The air bag - as Firestone intended - limits articulation. The cradle frees you from restriction. You can haul and/ or off road.

    That was my understanding too. I run them unloaded around 5psi and they are in contact with the cradles at all times unless the rear suspension is being flexed out a little.

    An entirely new bracket no, but you will need to either weld or bolt on a couple of extensions so the bracket gets support from your axle.

    Not correct. The bags are not shock absorbers, they are overload springs. The bags are compressed against the cradles at all times except when you foolishly go airborne, or, importantly, when you jack up your frame to do maintenance, leaving the unsprung hanging. If the bags were installed as Firestone designed them, they would be required to support the entire weight of the axle. Think hanging a six pack of beer from your nut sack.

    Well I fabed up a bracket and bolted it to the lower bracket that sits on the leafs and the bracket extends it to hit the lower axle to support the weight of the bag so you don't bend the lower bracket like this when you have a load on the truck!

    Ok cool shouldn't be a problem thanks again @Up2NoGood. How high should cradle be located off of axle or springs? or what should the gap be between cradle
    ok ya i got it. Just did a bad job of translating. thanks @wanna taco ifyou were crawling though your axle would have more articulation down though it seems
