    Mine doesn't have any play in it last time I checked but it sounds terrible. I'm thinking they get a couple bad rollers in there and get noisy but it's a matter of time before they come apart. With as many people that have this issue I assume they had a bad batch years ago.

    Will a regular 35mm socket work or do I need a deep one? Have to order it and want to make sure i have the right one.

    Regular. You should be able to get one at O'Reilly or AutoZone fairly cheap.

    They don't always make noise and they don't always have play. One on my 05 just let loose without warning.

    I have a deep 35 but a standard will work just fine. Rent a torque wrench capable of 173 ft lbs.

    Thanks, found a deep socket at AdvanceAuto that i'll pick up this afternoon. Hopefully they have the correct torque wrench to rent, as mine only goes to 150 ft lb.

    EDIT - Called Advance and their rental only goes to 150ft lb...O'Reilly has one that'll do 250. Hopefully this helps anyone else looking for one :)

    I could not for the life of me close this gap...the axle was all the way into the hub, everything was ligned up and tightened to 175ft lb...other side doesn't stick out that much...should I worry about it??

    Part on right side is dust seal, it's all the way seated...left is part of cv joint...it would sit flush then when I tightened the 4 bolts of the hub it pushed back like the pic

    Also would like to mention this fixed my humming noise...old hub had no play, just sounded gritty when spinning the wheel when it was jacked up.

    It wasn't too bad. Took me 2 hrs with beer breaks and taking my time. Dust cover on hub is a pain to get off.

    I was thinking I should be able to just remove CV nut, take hub off, put new hub on, put on CV nut -Profit.

    I only did the hub also. Takes some beating to get it off. Make sure you have the bolts that you can thread into the rotor to pop it off...I beat it for 10 minutes and it wouldn't budge...luckily had bolts that fit laying around.
