This kind tall enough? (dont judge me for using my hitch as a spring compressor)

HAHAHAHA. That is pretty damn awesome. I have one similar to that, don't think it will quite do the trick. Thanks though @Bannerman! I have some old 4X4s laying around I can use to supplement the jack

I strongly recommend that nobody ever compress a spring like this, ever. That is just begging to hurt someone.

It only needed to compress about an inch to get the nut off.

    oohhh, was that all?

Edit; that was sarcasm^. I'm not being an asshole, I'm seriously telling you that it is dangerous. The truck only needs to shift a little bit, the bottom of the shock will slip and it could go flying. I have a good compressor, tell me next time you need a hand, I am happy to help.

That's one of the most dangerous ways I've ever seen someone compress a coil over. There is so much force just waiting to take a leg or your head off. You can rent a spring compressor for cheap at auto zone.

Sarcasm is like a second language to me so I'm right there with you. I appreciate everyone's concern, this isn't my first rodeo. I actually had two sets of spring compressors, neither of which fit between the stock coils. Had no issues with the new OME coils though. As I said earlier it only needed to compress an inch or less, lets assume a maximum of 500 lbs. Not saying I want to take a top hat to the face but it's not going to kill anybody. Additionally, the truck was in 4x4, first gear, parking break on and at no time were any of the tires of the ground. Not likely to shift.
