That graphic is still accurate. We have a double cardan joint in our driveshaft before the carrier bearing just like that picture depicts. So if you were to install a carrier bearing drop you are petting unneeded stress on both the u-joints on the front half of the driveshaft as well as the carrier bearing itself.

Axle shims do not correct anything but the angle of the axle housing. The shims do not decrease your likeliness if having axle wrap as that will be dependent on the strength of the leafs and having everything torqued correctly as you said.

All right then. So I'll just get the expo kit 12" 5125s and the U-bolt flip kit and see what happens. If no vibes then I'll just need a alignment since the lift in the front is 2.5" the rear will be higher till I get the gear I want 2 spare tires and couple fuel cans so on

Sounds correct to me. And to answer your question about there being welding involved for the u-bolt flip, yes. You will need to get lower shock mount tabs welded onto your axle housing since the stock ones will be gone when you do the u-bolt flip.

I think our trucks look good with slightly more lift in the rear anyways personally. Be prepared for a rough ride on the Expo springs until you get some weight in there. But once you do have that extra weight these springs perform pretty awesome.

Sweet cause one reason I am looking at the expos is cause of my truck gear and I get horse feed for my mom once a month. The extra weight capacity is the selling point for me really. Welding is no problem since I took that in high school lol but I better have some one more skilled then me

I think Dakars are pretty good if you don't plan to have a ton of weight in the bed all of the time. Even with the added leaf spring for extra weight they sag more than I like. This is just all from pictures I've seen, not real world experience. Guarantee they perform better than All Pro Expos with no weight though haha

I've always wanted to try the Deaver Expo springs to see how they compare to the All Pro Expos. When I have just the toolbox in the back of the truck I can get barely any up-travel out of them.

Running Dakars right now, Photo was taken today. All leafs are there, running 33x12.5 tires. They dont have a bad right with the weight in the back, I get good up and down travel with them, but I'll probablt looking at something new in the future. But today I did get the on-board pressure washer/shower working. All in all works pretty well.

It's not quite that bad. Definitely bearable. I didn't notice that it was really that stiff until I added about 300lbs to the bed. Smooth as butter after that.

Some people have had good luck with aftermarket door handles. But all the aftermarket door handles I've tried were really cheap and didn't have the correct amount of tension it seemed like. Really mushy feeling. I just bit the bullet and bought OEM ones. Still haven't installed them yet though.

Yeah, and I need to replace both sides. They better last another 13 years on this truck after I install them for that price...

A $25 aftermarket door handle I installed on my 96 lasted only a couple months before becoming unusable.

Yea that's what I plan to put in was 300 pounds. Just rather enjoy the smoother ride then the rougher one. Plus dirt is a cheap temporary weight fix till I get the more appropriate stuff I want.

There is no reservoir, You just drop one end into water. Works pretty well, the system takes a moment to prime but after that its great.
This is the kit I got - LINK
Went to the hardware store to get garden hose fittings, then wired her in.

It's around $30 and very easily attained in your area of the world. I can't even get 1.75 from the big suppliers here.

I've been fine with my expos, but it seems to depend on the truck.

I went with expos, I used to actually use the truck as a truck and would load it down with gear going camping/offroading. They run great with weight in the back. With no weight they are a bit rough on the pavement but actually do fine off-road.
