No, I was checking the oil level religiously. This stems from a recovery I made a few months back. Some guy decided it would be a good idea to drive out near sunset and got stuck right by where the tide was coming in. I don't have a winch so I went to go pull him out using a strap, since nobody else was around that could/ wanted to help. Needless to say, I got some water in the crankcase (through a very small leak) but I didn't notice until I got home (11 mile trek). My oil pan gasket blew out. I drained and filled the engine 3x with new oil and filter and mixing in seafoam, but the damage was done. The last time I dropped the oil pan I didn't notice and shavings, but I started to notice a noise that I thought was piston slap or rod knock. I assume I used the wrong RTV or poor technique when I resealed it and so I had to drop the pan again. This is what resulted 12k after the initial incident.

Finally put the CB in the ashtray slot instead of wedging it between the seat & console. Couldn't find a low profile 90° uhf so I moved the panel mount onto the bottom; came out pretty flush.

I have the AP ubolt flip. They dont come with bumpstops and I had to modify the plate to use the oem ones. Also used shock tabs from wfo concepts. Turned out pretty nice. I used stock upper location with 10" 5125s. Wish the shocks werent so stiff because the dakars are pretty stiff but its not too bad..20160226_133058.jpg

ok thanks. i couldnt afford for new bump stops so im either going have to use the stock ones or wait till next paycheck to get them. i think i'll be fine if i dont do anything other than just drive to work which is 8 miles one way. just didnt expect the bump stops to be $200 lol i could wait to install my coil overs and rear suspension but if im just careful i should be fine right?

I'm looking for a black gauge face for my 96. Know of any good places to look? I've looked on eBay and I only see white faces. Where do you all get yours?
