    ...too much shit to list.
The Tundra uses the same stem top mount and I "believe" has the same lower mount width, but I don't have a second gen to compare.

However....you're wrong with how the Dakar shocks are built. There's nothing different with the guts of the regular taco shock and the Dakar pack shock. They don't remove the shaft spacer. Rather, the rod end on the bottom is an extended rod end. It's 1 inch longer than what the non-dakar shock comes with. Meaning you have 1" less bump travel, but 1" more droop with the dakar shock. Extended length of the normal shock is 24.29 and collapsed is 15.83.

Also, the tundra uses a welded rod end, not a screw on. Meaning you can't remove the shorty rod end and add an 1" extended rod like you can with the Tacoma (unless you want to do a King customization, which adds $200 to the price tag).

Lastly, the shaft spacer serves a purpose. You can't (rather..shouldn't) remove the shaft spacer on the rear shocks like you can with a coilover. The coilover has a coil that surrounds the shock that prevents the rod from deflecting from the shock body. If you remove the shaft spacer from a non-coil carrier, yes the shock extends more, but you allow for additional leverage which can rip the piston and seal cap right out of the shock body due to the increased leverage. As a simple comparison, my 16" stroke rear shocks have very long shaft spacer (1.5" IIRC). They are there for a reason.

Edit: I had first gen on the brain and was wrong...2nd gen uses a welded rod end too. But both the extended and collapsed lengths are 1" longer on the Dakar shock.

I wasn't happy with the fairing on my new rack so I took some snips and a flap wheel to it, rounded the edges and trimmed the fat off the brackets so it didn't stick out the bottom. Oh and of course stickers for HP, I know it's not a tacoma but I refuse to join 4runners. I like you guys dammit I don't want to make new friends.

    Thanks for the insight, Jason.

So, even if they do mount up the same, it sounds like the rear Tundy extended option may not be offered without pricey customization. I'll double check with DSM.

Another nearby member has offered to take pics of his mounting points etc. for me, and if they look at all promising, we will meet up to take some real measurements and likely just do a test swap of the OEM shocks to check if they even mount up the same way to put this uncertainty to rest.

Shame if they won't work out with that better overall travel length. However, even unmodified, they offer better travel than King Tacoma extended shocks for the Dakars. So...there's that. I hope I am not missing something else in the equation here.

I guess the only other way to make either option provide an extra 2 inches is to relocate the lower shock mounts on the axle.

edit: ...Which would also clean up clearance under the axle. Which is good.

I can give you the width on the Tundra lower mount if that's all you need. But all this shock measurement insanity is why I cut all the factory shit off my Tacoma and started over.

Also keep in mind bump travel. Moving the lower mounts on the axle higher will reduce your bump travel. It's all a game.

Anyone have an extra 1" wheel spacer laying around they wanna sell? Need to space out my spare so I can mount my high lift on the swing out. Only needs to move out about 1". 1.5" would work also

Yeah....those fucking Bilsteins are plug and play with the Dakars. Throw on some Superbumps and done. Sigh.

If you can give the the Tundy width, that be nice. Thanks. I could still potentially plug and play those Kings using OEM mounts and do better than the King 2nd gen daks.
