Funny thing....I could almost pinpoint each persons age by their response on that thread. The older we get, the more we realize just what it takes to be a man and what it takes to qualify as a "boy". Priorities change.....

 Morning all, sorry I haven't kept up here.

Back from Whiskey Gulch halibut fishcation. Fished 4 days, caught our limit 4 days; ate/drank/slept same. Weather was gorgeous, saw lots of sea otters, a few eagles, an orca, one young cow moose ... and on Thursday's fishing outage, a 6-8 ft long Salmon SHARK chased the halibut I was reeling in up to about 10 feet below the boat. That was a first, and truly WTF Holy Shit moment I'll remember forever.

I should have some decent pics to share in a few days. Couple of the girls along on this trip had nicer cameras/phones than my old Iphone 4, so I didn't bother taking pics myself.

Good morning and happy Friday! Got an email last night from the South Dakota GFP that I hit the lottery and was drawn for non resident Statewide waterfowl. Couple more months yet but ducks in the morning and pheasants in the afternoon. Hard to imagine in the middle of summer but will be here soon.

Your fishing adventure sounds awesome to me!! Almost makes me sad to hit the trout streams around here with the fly rod LOL.

Hanging in there thanks Rob. He is still alive but a lot of complications one self induced. One day at a time. Hope all is well!

normally i look forward to fall and hunting and cooler temps all summer. i can honestly say this has been the best summer i can remember for a long time. all things considered with the operation and pain just being away from the hell i go through at work has relieved a tremendous amount of stress and i've enjoyed almost every minute i'm already starting to stress realising i'll be returning in a few weeks. yes tw and this thread has been a big relief and enjoyment for me during this time. sometimes you feel as if you are the only person with issues but then you realise your not and compared to others your problems however important to you can be trivial compared to others it gives you some true perspective

    Morning all, happy Friday!

My kid's Eagle Scout project got approved so we are going to spend the weekend building shelves then the week clearing a room, installing and painting at a church. Then he has 3 merit badges to finish and he is done. Between graduation and this my stress level is killing me. Then you guys put things into perspective and I see my problems are good ones to have.

    I have two teenage daughters.

My doc just prescribed me prescription heartburn meds.

I come to this thread, and just like you Andy, things fall into perspective and my problems are good problems to have... or even enjoy.

i've been in your boat andy and sometimes feels like it's sinking brittany took her gold award project on past hs graduation and we all stressed that it wouldn't get done and it was down to the wire. at times ( this may make me sound horrible) i wished that would all just be over i was so burnt out on dealing with scouts and everything else piling up like last baby leaving for college. then it was, it was all done, and we found ourselves sitting at home in relative peace and quiet. cool at first but then you come to miss it some, however, your stress and worrying will never end it's called love. as long as you have that it'll never end it just switched to other things.

Yep Marty, same 15' 6" Achilles inflatable I posted pics of before. Shark was almost half as long as the boat. It was surreal, but a pretty exciting experience I'll always remember. :)

I never would have expected it, two of the folks with us have lived up here for 30+ years and it was a first for them too. I feel lucky to have had the experience.

Sorry to read that last part ... my thoughts and prayers are with you both brother. :fingerscrossed: &

Yes, I bitch and moan about my job. Yes, I think this place is crazy.

    You be the judge;

I just got out of a meeting. 4 of us, collective salaries somewhere north of $375K. Almost 2 hours of our time.......all over what brand of shampoo we have in our locker rooms.

This was just a preliminary meeting. Another scheduled for next week with 12 MORE people involved.

    ....and Jesus wept.....
