Agreed. I had mine checked a month or so ago. Mine was a half quart low and they filled it. It made no difference whatsoever in the problems I was having. I bet the flash I'm have done this afternoon does though!! :)

You have not provided any evidence to this fact however. It is just your opinion. Many have stated they have filled their transmissions and noticed a change in functionality. Also there are very smart and experienced people out there who are technicians, engineers, and professionals in the transmission trade who will tell you otherwise. Believe what you want however.

Getting it done at the dealer right now. Had to put up one hell of a fight for them to do it. They wanted a test drive to duplicate the problem. Spent about an hour pushing back before they relented and finally put a tech on it.

tell them to go **** ********** and call corporate and report them pushing back about not fixing an issue with a TSB on your truck. If my service advisor pushes back on monday, I'll fucking lose it

I'm a licenced Professional Mechanical Engineer, I didn't see how it is relevant either. Much of the satisfaction with our trucks comes from "how we feel", so makes sense that everyone has something that is important to them in terms of what makes them feel good about the truck. If a topped up tranny makes you feel better....cool. I just don't think it is related to the issues addressed in the TSB.

Its all about the PR valve and maintaning it's regulating balance.
Low fluid can have an effect on this; it snowballs from there.

Riiggghhtt, I want my 10 minutes back after wasting my time reading that useless link.

It doesn't even come to close to speaking how low fluid ( much less alone half a frigin qt) and its affect on a transmission. Why people liked your post blows my mind.

Save the low fluid talk for a low fluid thread. If it was the low fluid causing these problems the TSB would be for adding fluid, not flashing the trans

Owners complain about shifting, they point fingers at low fluid, dealers fill up tranny. Some owners say they 'think' it feels better, others say it still shifts weird.

Toyota does their research and they finally realize there is an issue with the transmission and pretty much says the symptoms are not the result of low fluid but instead the ECM.

I would love some guys that are having issues with shift points have their ECM flashed without having their fluid checked. If it turns out the flash works and they still have low fluid it puts this argument to bed.

When you have to caveat your post with what your occupation and present no facts to the contrary, well..
I'm sorry some of you have comprehension difficulties.
And quit pulling the .5 quart figure out your ass. Folks are short, 1.25 quarts on average.

    I'm done here.:)

Also keep in mind that most all of the transmission complaints have been on the V6 trucks, including "low fluid" levels. I agree with others 1 qt or less was not causing issues.

Funny how no one complained about the 4 cylinder being low, as no one has really checked because they weren't experiencing any issues, and the fact the 4 cylinder had a TSB for the AT software back in Sept of 2016.

Toyota has probably been working on this TSB for quite some time even probably knew about it right after launch, but no way in hell would they delay sales over it.

I think its born out of ignorance and immaturity. These guys deal with people all day. There are plenty of stupid people that think they know more than the techs. They also deal with the gambit of vehicles--new ones, old ones, all models, etc. So, when someone comes in an tells them about something they've never heard of (ie they're ignorant of the newest news and issues with new vehicles), they get defensive (ie they are immature ) and push back. How on earth could this person know more than me!??!
