Appreciate all the feedback so far. I'm ready to buy NOW, but my lease isn't up on my lexus until AUGUST so I'm not in a rush...IF the 2017 does have electric slider and electric seats, I'd absolutely wait for one.

Right now I still have the option to get the exact spec 2016 I want...but I don't know how to deal with this right now, knowing the 2017 will be out the very next month.

No on the electric seats, and the power slider is only available on the PRO. So unless your getting a pro, there's really no need to wait and likely will get a better deal on a 16 with 17's showing up to lots.

You're 100% sure? You saw specs/press release on 2017 TRD Off-Road and they don't have power slider or seats? If so, can you link me?

There are no power seats on the pro spec sheet, which is the cream of the crop, which means no power seats on lower models more than likely, the slider is likely a pro only option, but not 100%, but do you really need a power slider for more $ if it is available with the off road cause the price will change to include it. Toyota is a conservative company and is slow to make big changes, just look at the 1st gens, 2nd gens, tundras any product they don't throw big new things in models each year like the domestics, I would be surprised to see much if any change to the 2016s besides the addition of the PRO, they are selling like hot cakes Toyota dosent need to add more things to draw more customers. But all speculation. We will see come August.

Toyota is catching on. They've made changes in a few models to help boost sales because they have lost some. Now with the midsize truck market ramping up I bet they will jump on the bandwagon. Unfortunately probably nothing big until 2018-19

Exactly, I doubt there's much for 2017, with ranger, frontier moving in for 2018 I'm sure you can get a loaded up Tacoma for $40k with every tech feature imaginable.

Interesting to see how many will trade up from a 16 to a 17,
and just for starters to quash some of that 16 mayhem ...will the tranny issue fixed?

Its supposedly just a reflash of ecu and right fluid, which the 16's will get or already have, mine was full from factory and I don't experience any weird shifting as early purchasers did. Honestly anyone that trades a 16 for a 17 either likes to burn money or moving into a Pro, but hey those people are gonna make a lot of dealers happy when they offer crap on trade in and then sell you a new Tacoma just below MSRP and resell your perfectly good 16 for more than they gave you. To each their own.

So, I initially scratched it off my list after seeing it in person, too, but I kept going to different dealerships trying to get my fix a little as I continue to save up money (and wait to find out whether I'll be moving) to buy my truck. I started seeing more of the Infernos at different places, and it just started to grow on me again. Pretty soon it took top spot on my list. That being said, there are other colors I think are awesome, too, and I'll probably just leave it up to fate at the last minute - you know, if when I'm ready to buy, and a tan one happens to have everything I'm looking for, just sitting there on the lot - well, then it looks like I'm meant to end up with a tan! Haha. I think the truck looks great in all the colors, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing if any new ones come out for 2017.

I see what you're saying here....but one would think that a cream of the crop subaru STI would have included a stereo when it first came out too, but it didn't. If the TRD PRO is considered a higher end tacoma / race baja style truck, it wouldn't be surprising if it lacked certain electric features for weight, simplicity, etc. Of course we all know the TRD PRO is just a photoshoot truck anyways ;) Look at the ford raptors with bent frames.

Not new to Toyota or Tacoma, my 5th one, and look at the spec list the TRD PRO has EVERY option besides a moonroof.

So if it doesn't have a moon roof, I think it wouldn't be surprising if the TRD PRO didn't have electric seats -- but maybe the regular TRD or Premium would...? "Race Vehicles" often lack luxuries. And before you bring up leather - they put it in because it's easier to wipe mud off of...

I also never implied you were new to Toyota or Tacoma.

I'm simply pointing out that you're so sure, of something that you're not so sure of.

I'll revisit and told you so, your missing the point the TRD PRO is the luxury cream of the crop in the Tacoma world bud. It has EVERY OPTION JBL, LEATHER, ETC. so called luxuries, HEATED SEATS, they wouldn't not put power seats in it but a power slider, but in other models, come on now.

Well until I see a press release, or something official...your speculation is as accurate as mine ;)

I wish my truck didn't have a sliding window. All they are good for is coating the interior of your truck in dust. If you have leaves in your truck bed they will be in your truck before you reach your destination.

Looks like a power sliding window will make an appearance for 2017 on double cab models. Something nice for Canada is not only the ability to get the DCSB 6AT finally, but a DC with the TRD Off-Road package (DCSB 6AT only). TRD Pro DCSB will also be available for 6AT and 6MT.

Doesn't look like there are going to be any colour changes though, beyond what is available for the TRD Pro.
