1969 Firebird 4 speed manual. I forget what engine they put in it but it's not what came with it. Fun car, I've driven it a few times

She got the Automatic. Better MPG's and it lets her drink her coffee in the morning, lol.
Plus she test drove a 6 speed and she was having a hard time with the shift rhythm with the Ecoboost. The 5.0 GT 6 speed was amazing, but the Ecoboost and the 6 speed almost seemed like they didn't really get along. :notsure:

My old 1965 GTO was exactly like this except mine had steel type rally wheels and no dual exhaust splinters coming out both sides .. had only regular duals w/o splitters ... had OEM Uniroyal Tiger Paws until changed to Goodyear Blue Streaks tires on it.

From the factory it was a cheapo model with 389 cu.in., 335 hp, 323 rear, 3 speed in the floor, no a/c ... but it was this color and a hardtop (no post). Modified engine later, but kept 3 speed.

Later in life .. had a 1969 Dodge Dart HiPo for a year and later a 1970 Chevelle SS 454, 450 (owned the Chevelle for about 120 miles and maybe 12 hours, before it was resold IIRC, the Chevelle was fast, but not fun to drive, because I was older and hated the stiff clutch).

The most fun car was the Dodge Dart (383 IIRC) automatic ... it was bright blue, blue wheels, little oem hub caps and super light & quick off the line.

My old 1969 Dodge Dart like this, except took the stripe off the back with a hair dryer. This was a fun car to drive and with an automatic, it was like a cat off the line. :)

Found this pic on the internet too ... but they looked the same.

I loved this little car, rubber floors and all.

Nice. Been eyeing any Swingers/Scamps as well as Demons/Dusters on craigslist. They can be had for fairly cheap (compared to other mopars in that era).

... 340's were almost as fast as 383's .. drove a 340 too .. they felt amazing quick off the line because they jumped because they were light.

PS ... Mr. Norm and Grand Spaulding Dodge modified them under OEM warranty with 440's and 426 Hemi's too (413's were old news then and you could get them cheap)
IMO ... Mr. Norm was the guy who made dodge a winner on the street ... he did the prototypes like Carroll Shelby ... http://www.mrnorms.com/new/sport_club/bio.html

Where the street race cars were born --> grand spaulding dodge

Here ^^^ ... Really cool old newspaper car ads for super cars off the showroom floor .... ... stuff that was NOT available at other dealers and street racers had an OEM warranty IIRC, because they were born here for later OEM production.
