Toytec 3" front coil lift?

If there is already a thread on this please post the link because I couldn't find it. Has anyone used this lift? Toytec says it will work with stock shocks. Will it work well with 5100s?

I have done a decent amount of research and I'm about ready to pull the trigger on this lift finally. My plan was to get the 5100s with spacers and maybe go for a 1.5" AAL. But I just saw this toytec kit yesterday and was wondering if it'd be a good choice with the 5100s? Will a drop diff or new UCAs be necessary?

 

In my personal opinion I would go with the 5100 series shocks... You're gonna be in there so why not replace everything at once?

This kit has 5100 series shocks along with the 521600 coils... you will get 3" with the Toytec aluminum top mount. The diff drop is a nice peace if mind to have for only 30 bucks...

 

I'm sorry I don't think I was completely clear. I'm buying the 5100s separately in group buy for a good price. No matter what I'm getting the 5100s. I'm wondering if that kit will work well with the 5100s, and if so, will I also need to purchase the drop diff.

Yes those coils will work well with the shocks.. Just make sure you keep the clip setting at the bottom, the coils will give you 3'' of lift.

One last question. If I go with a 1.5 in AAL in the rear, is it possible to level (or get close to level) with 5100s and stock springs using spacers?

 

Have you checked out Headstrong Offroad? They have great prices on full kits with 5100's and free shipping.

 

I did awhile ago, but have been hesitant about looking outside of Toytec because my long ass warranty is still in affect and I know the Toytec lift won't void it. I know, I'm complaining about a good warranty. I'll check them out again though.

 

The kit can be matched with toytec springs if that is your concern.

I'm a little confused on your intentions, but if you buy that kit you won't be disappointed. If you get it without the spacers, you'll achieve ~2.5" of lift and will probably not need new UCAs (I didn't). If you include the top spacers you'll get a full 3" of lift and are almost guaranteed to need new UCAs for a good alignment.

 

Ok, so originally I was planning to do 5100s, OME 884s, Toytec AAL 1.5 - 2", Drivers side spacer. If necessary new UCAs and diff drop.
Yesterday I discovered the Toytec 3" coil kit and thought it might be a good option so I started researching. The problem is while researching further, I read some posts that just confused me.

At this point it would probably just be easier for me to state my goal and take advice on the best option to get there. I am in a 2012 access cab 4x4. I want to put 1.5-2" AAL on the rear. What's my best option for leveling the front?

 

I'm a fan of the OME coils, as that's that I'm running. Here's my set up.
5100s all around
885 coils up front (double cab 4x4 V6)
diff drop
Wheelers Off road 2" AAL in the rear
Stock UCAs


For you being an access cab, you'd want the 884s and that'd net you about 2.5" of lift in the front. You can get the coils on Amazon for $165.

Will the drivers side spacer be necessary?

 

I don't have one in and honestly I can't tell the difference. It may be leaning to the side if I measured it (I haven't), but if I can't tell just by looking at it, then I really don't care. Looking back it wouldn't hurt to throw it in there while its all apart, but I have no plans of putting one in.

 

What size tires you running?

 

265/70r17 General Grabber AT2s

 

I'm about to buy some 265/75R16s. Think those are about the same size as the 265/70r17s. I finally got everything I need except the tires. I'm going:

5100s all around (front at zero)
844 OMEs
Toytec progressive 3 leaf AAL
Diff drop just to be safe.
