What do you mean the slide gets pushed back? Like, you rack the slide to get the first round in, have to manually push it all the way, then the slide moves back on its own?

With regards to the other issue, brass catching could be caused by limp wristing and you just need to adjust your grip. Has anybody else shot it and it the problem was still there?

When racking the slide it doesn't fully engage and gets caught, at that point I am unable to fire, I have to manually push the slide forward (usually I can reach up with my thumb and tap it) in order for a round to be fully chambered.

My boyfriend who was in the Army has shot it and has the same issues.
I do not have any snapcaps..

Is it just the first round that is causing the problem, or does it happen after every round?

If it's just the first round, try racking the slide more violently

But the FTE isn't a good sign. I'd send it in to Springfield.

Maybe the feed lips of the magazine are bent a bit? Have you tried with different magazines?

I've pretty much always been taught if holstering, to push my thumb against the end plate of the slide to prevent any chance of it being pushed out of battery during the holstering...if that's what you're talking about

JB, I'm sure that is something that can practiced. I don't plan on carrying it until I'm 100% comfortable with how to gun operates.
My point is I paid almost $600 for something that isn't working properly and it's not just user error since my boyfriend who has tons of experience with guns has the same problem.

Are y'all racking the slide with any sort of ferocity or just kind of pulling it back and lazily letting it go

While everyone is active... I have a beretta nano that last time I went to the range it randomly had issues feeding. I read that the lip between the casing and the bullet on the 9mm can snag while feeding. After that I heard that they were making new rounds without the lip, or less of one at least. Anybody know anything on that?

I just need another G19 and id have one of each of the 9mm glocks. I regret trading my 19 all the time. Oh well.

I kinda want to get a full size 10mm for when I'm out hiking/camping, honestly i think 2 legged animals are more of a threat than anything else and 9mm does just fine for defence.

Never heard of that, but I have heard of different bullet profiles having trouble on steeper feed ramps.

I've sold a 19...but so I could afford the nibx 19 in the pic above....I have a G20sf...I like it...but...it's too wide so it stays in the safe...

    22, 23RTF2, 27, 17RTF2, 19 NIBX, 26, 43, 42, 20SF, and a 31...I've traded or sold 2 17s, a 19, a 35 and a 43

    I have a problem

Maybe I've got the wrong ammo then. I'll have to try a different brand.

I like the XD-S a lot, it fits my hand well and when it's working properly I am very comfortable with it. This is the first time I've shot it and I feel like dialed it in pretty quickly.
