Sweet. We have an acceptable jackass ratio on this site. Nice job, mods :)

Now the more important question is....you going to sell/trade in your 2010, or are you gonna keep it as a beater?

I do plan to upgrade this fall, going to wait until the 2017 Taco is out. See if some issues are addressed. The Honda is still a contender too. Waiting on Leer to produce a camper shell (they said they are going to), if the shell looks awful then that will simplify my choice. :)

Damn straight. All people need to do is YouTube news stories about the 2007 Tacoma brakes that I do believe caused death in a few, along with other Toyota cars. Honda and airbags, Chevy, Ford, Dodge. No perfect automaker. Not a fanboy, but do love my new Taco coming from ford.

I wouldn't trust anyone's opinion on this site any more than I'd trust salesman, Toyota, or any magazines. "Informed" opinions might be giving people here a bit too much credit. if I had to go with a more accurate term that would describe the opinions here, I would use the word informed, I'd use the word "biased".

I noticed the automatic transmission was smoother after the first 600 miles then again between 1500 and 2000 miles. I do mostly highway that's hill based.

i'm sure there are some 16's that have an issue but most don't. I've got over 17,000 on mine with nothing wrong and get great milage staying near the speed limits. Lots of complainers here don't even own a 16 but grace us with their opinions. The owners wining could simply trade for what they perceive as "better" but don't, if it is that bad, trade it. Truth be told the majority of owners like their vehicles and simply have no need or inkling to be here; read in another thread there are 17K tacomas sold in a month. It's a good vehicle that requires operator to relearn how they drive. We like ours.

Not redesigned. Been overseas for years. They just nixed the US market but they are everywhere in other countries.

You're absolutely correct. I mean, why would they release a TSB? Stupid Toyota. They should hire you to run the company.

You'll thank us when you have a truck that doesn't thump, clank, buzz, vibrate, or rumblestrip around.

I'm curious to see what the Honda is all about.

Honda body style looks like its from the 90's, and a tow package of only 5000. What a joke. That says a lot about its build.

I'm not defending the RL, but find it funny how you guys are tearing apart this vehicle. Sure, Honda calls it a 'truck', and I'm sure they'd like to steal some sales from Toyota but most likely know they're going to attract a different type of buyer. Directly comparing the RL to a Tacoma is almost like comparing a Subaru Outback to a Tacoma. Both are killer vehicles, just marketed toward a different demographic and different uses with a little bit of crossover/similarity, but still very different from each other. But if it makes you feel like more of a man, then go ahead and trash the RL.

I'm sure there are some great features of the RL that Toyota could improve on and add to the Tacoma, like the under bed storage that people seem to like. But Toyota knows that they have so many people/sheep who will buy anything that says Toyota on it, so why would they invest in improving something that wouldn't necessarily improve sales if they can just keep re-hashing the same old thing?

For the record, I've never owned or had the real desire to own a Honda vehicle, just being objective.
