Never heard of anything like that, I know 9mm is a tapered case cartridge and if you handload you can put a tighter taper crimp to help alleviate the "ledge".

My sister has an XDs 9 and it is an extremely well shooting gun.

Normally round nose works best with flat nose/hollow points the ones that will have problems feeding.

But if the ammo you were having problems with has worked fine before then it's something else.

It's the only ammo I've used so far, it worked "okay" but feed issues here and there through the 250 I put through it.

Straight wall cases that are common in semi-autos headspace on the case mouth. They are taper crimped so as to provide enough edge to properly work. Without that edge, the round will go too far into the barrel and not work. Rimmed cartridges designed for revolvers use a roll crimp and do not have that edge as they headspace on the rim.

Some pistols just don't like some ammo. Try some other ammo in it and see if the problem is still there.

 I have much to learn on this. Would've never known there was different crimps on casings.

Trip to the gun store in my future. I have some of the other ammo left so next time I go to the range I'll have to compare.

Depends on the pistol. My 1911s don't care what you do. My shield has to be slingshotted to go into battery. It's new so I'm hoping after a few hundred rounds it works a bit better.

What ammo are you shooting now? If it's Remington UMC I can just about guarantee it's an ammo problem.

Try a different shaped bullet. Some are a lot more rounded or pointed or flattened than others and some guns are finicky about what they like.

Try a different brand of ammo. The tolerances may be off just slightly, being new it may just need to be shot some to break it in. IIRC my sub compact hung up a few rounds then I shot the crap out of it and it works as it should. The other thing I would check is to see if maybe some small piece of brass may be caught up on the slide somewhere. And make sure the slide rails are lubed well and not dry.

Ignore the guys that are in love with there Glocks. Glocks are big clunky Guns for some people. ya ya glock lovers, I'm very aware of the 42 & 43. ( of witch the 42 has had quite a few problems itself) You stick with your XDS. I would try to give Springfield another call. I'm constantly in contact with Rob and the other members at Springfield. I may have missed it earlier, what ammo are you using?

Thanks. We've tried several types of ammo, ball ammo, self defence, ect it's done it with all of them. We wrote an email and sent it along with a video of what the gun is doing, no response back; we will try to call them.

Constantly in contact with the manufacturer or your pistol? Yikes! Big and clunky? I can't think of any other example where function is more important than form than the pistol you depend on to defend your home. Ya I own a glock, it takes everything i feed it and I've never had to contact Gaston lol

Yes Glocks have their place and they are good running guns but the lovers talk about them like they're the end all to be all. And yes I own Glocks.

Yeah I can try, it's on my boyfriend's phone.

He just now tried to load a round manually (without the magazine in) and it jammed. It's the ejector spring that is too tight, he's going to try and shave it down.

    We'll see I guess.

Nothing wrong with Glocks. They've proven themselves to work in just about any environment. They just hold very little value for me. I view guns as more than a tool. Works of art with a purpose. I prefer my rifles be blued steel and wood and my pistols 1911s. I've got as many single and double action revolvers as I do semi-autos as I prefer the workmanship that goes into a good revolver.

I currently am looking for a used, well worn G19 that will go under my work table in the garage. It will be ignored for the most part but trusted to work if and when I need it. A simple tool that I care little about but will trust. That's how I see glocks.
