I'd suggest printing the tsb. I had hell with ford on a tsb on my shelby. They always said they knew of the tsb but couldn't find it. So I would print them and drop them on their desk. I'll be calling my dealer monday

I have appointment on Monday after noon.
There's no way they replaced the ECU, I assume it would cost a few grand this early in the life of the truck

I had my update completed today. I honestly believe they have me a whole new truck!!

We put a few hundred miles on the truck today, I honestly feel like the truck is holding lower gears longer and because of it the truck feels quicker. Really sporty.

On the highway my truck would never find sixth gear, Bounce between 1500 Rpms and 2200/2500 Rpms all the time.

Since the update today, at highway speeds of 65+ the truck cruises @1200-1700 Rpms in 6th gear and gets in gear quickly. I was even passing people in 6th.

My truck has at best seen 20 mpg on the tank gauge. In reality I average 18 mpg at the pump. Truck was showing me 22+ all day today.

    Very excited

Went to the dealer today...they had no idea what I was talking about. The service manager came out, I'd worked with him before...good guy...looked it up, found that TSB and got me all set.

I had the delay from P-R-D and it appears to be fixed!! Good news indeed!!

Boy, you just don’t get it, do you son?
They’ve effectively filled the transmission at the factory and for all intent and purpose sealed the transmission to keep DIY and amateurs from causing damage by overfilling and introducing contaminants into the transmission. This will void your warranty.
Moreover, this does not seat well for ATF sales and private transmission shops as repair business disappears from voided warranties and overfilling issues. Transmissions last a very long time if you just leave them alone!
Toyota is responsible for all fluid lvl checks, and this includes the transmission. Period.
Why do you insist on spreading rumors that can only do harm? If they wanted you to check it they’d put a dipstick on it.
Now go chill somewhere, as this is the last time I’m gonna address this issue with YOU, I’m done!
Hope that helps, have a great day!
    Cheers!

I'm going to listen to people who are career specialists in the automotive industry before I'm going to lend any credence to some dude who cranks a wrench occasionally in his garage.

Ok one more time I’ll set you straight
“1-Everybody posting pictures of repair orders showing low fluid photoshopped them as you stated in another thread.”
I never said Everybody, go read the post.
“2- every single factory trained tech that has found low fluid levels is wrong.”

Wrong again. Go read read from the poster child smitty, he states that one dealer tech said it was ok, another said lvl needed adding. Go do your homework, there’s plenty other post like smitty and stop lying and twisting what I say.

“3- every dealership filling transmissions to spec is doing so out of ignorance.”
Wrong, I never have said that, another outright lie

“4- Toyota wants to flush money down the toilet as they pay dealerships to fill transmissions for no reason.”
Wrong again, the warranty states that Toyota is responsible for all fluid lvl checks under warranty and 2yr Toyota care, and YOU have paid for that when you bought the vehicle.

“Sounds to me that your on your own crazy island. Basically everybody including customers, techs, dealers, Toyota and engineers are wrong? Rigghhht...good luck”

You are the one saying Toyota doesn’t know how to build vehicles and fill transmissions, I’m saying the opposite, dude! Get a grip on reality man!

“I'm still waiting after providing TONS of documented instances for you to provide 1 single piece of supporting evidence. You sir are the one spreading potentially harmful rumors.”

Again, It is YOU that needs to prove a list of failed transmissions due to low ATF lvls, as YOU are spreading rumors they are low, not me, get a grip man.
“Go ahead and plunk me onto that ignore list already”

I don’t ignore ppl, I like people, they make life FuN! lmaoo!
Hope that helps to get you straight!
    Cheers!

Speak of the devil who became a transmission expert by reading links and never turning a wrench or knowing what burned transmission oil looks and smells like, or what causes brake noise! Welcome smitty! lolo!

Most, if not all trucks with the tow package had low ATF fills from the factory. That's a fact. Many dealers are reluctant to check the level. That's a fact. To not want your truck filled to the correct level is just stupid. Just because you are not competent to adjust your fluid level doesn't mean others are not.

The process of learning is repetition and iteration. It isn't hard to filter the information from people who have opinions (you) vs. People who are experts and masters in the trade because they are paid professionals (gearcruncher, trdinohio, etc) from there it is just basic reading comprehension.

Really dude?? Go read the transmission low ATF threads, it's full of ppl that say one dealer said lvl was ok and another it was low....Go read man, I have a 4X4 with the tow pkg. It's Toyota's responsibility that it's filled and works right, mine is to drive it and go places not crawl under it.
    Hope that helps!

I can't help if the EVERYBODY else you claim are wrong and going against the many Toyota and ASIN engineers by saying they don't know how their transmission should be filled, they built it they ought to know their chit yes??
    Hope that helps!
    Cheers!
