It seems like with keyless entry, there should be a secondary inside lock button like a LTFO button that makes it impossible for a person to open your door at a stop light or keep a crazy girlfriend/spouse/stranger from being able to open your driver door. Doesn't that seem like a safety oversight? From what I can tell there is no way to do this if you are in the truck.

I would think that they could tie it to the seat weight sensor so you couldn't accidentally lock your keys in.

Edit: Nevermind. Truck running or Accessory mode = can't unlock by pulling handle even with fob in hand. (manual p112)

Anti-Carjack device does not come standard on 2016 but may be purchased aftermarket.

I will be getting key-less and have never had it before, so I am also curious if the doors lock when you start driving or what have you.

I'm not sure about the SR model, but SR5 models and higher all have power lock features. You can change the settings on the screen, all my doors lock as soon as I shift out of Park, then all the doors unlock when I shift back into Park.

Yea. These are all adjustable as to what you want for lock/unlock.
I think the most popular is lock when shifting out of park and unlock when shifting back into park.
I think that might be the default settings....

Yes they have a setting where you can have them lock when in gear. That's how mine is set. When I put her in park they unlock.

Not sure how the manuals work. I guess you could just push the lock button?

Haha nice! I actually picked that picture cause I have that exact 686+ with the houge grips & all.
I leave something cheaper in the vehicle though, too nice for a truck gun IMO.

I prefer the "unlock when driver door is opened" option for the unlock. That way, when I park, I can take a nice look around before I unlock any of my doors.

I was going to say... Anti Carjacking is Situational Awareness and a cocked and locked gun at the ready.

Yeah, I realize you can lock the doors or have them auto-lock when driving etc., but if someone grabs the driver's doorhandle, won't it just assume it is me with the fob and unlock it? I am thinking if some rando road rager comes up, or you just want to keep an overzealous cop from yanking the door open. Whether currently locked or not, won't the driver's door just open if you are in there with the fob, or is there some additional security if you are in gear that I am not aware of?

The truck knows the difference between a fob inside and a fob outside.

I haven't tested it, but I think it wouldn't unlock while the fob was inside, and while the truck was running.

Manual transmission here, and my doors lock when I hit 10 or 15 mph.

The truck doesn't know one from the other. Lock the door and throw the fob in. Grab the handle. Opens every time. It is so you can't lock the fob in. Not sure about in drive, but I don't have anyone to test it. I didn't think about it until today driving through a shady part of town.

Nevermind. Truck running = can't unlock.

It does know the difference. Try to lock the doors using the door-button while the fob is inside the cab vs not in the cab.

It doesn't know the difference. It is just limited by proximity. If the truck is not running, it works the same. The difference is whether the truck is running or not, not whether the fob is inside or out. Try using the fob to lock/unlock while it is running and you are outside it. Roll the window down to test stuff.
