Hell, in all reality I am just waiting to see what the update does...if and when it gets released. Like I said the OP put it in pretty good terms in post #1. Sometimes I wish I was'nt retired and had contacts in the others sales channels including automotive that could possibly muster up this inside dirt from those in the know...

New to boards and posting only because I figured this info would be helpful to a bunch of us... Been following these threads very closely since I've had all the same issues and have been in to two different CO dealers 6 times for all the "standard" automatic transmission issues. I have an appointment a week from this Tuesday for the brand new software update for the V6 auto transmission update that was literally just released. After 3 really bad service experiences, I've since found an AMAZING service manager at Boulder Toyota who has actually listened to me and worked pretty tirelessly to help make things better... As in I was THIS close to selling or trading in my first Toyota and my first truck, being this 2016 Taco. I will let folks know how things turn out as soon as I get my truck back and have a couple days to test it on 36, 25 and I70... Fingers crossed that the solution is in sight!! Updates to follow after 7/27

Make sure you take care of him. Make sure he knows how you feel about his service to you and give him outstanding reviews on the surveys but also let corporate know if you talk with them. Send an email or letter in calling him out by-name for providing awesome service. That can really help the man out and we as consumers should reward outstanding performance

Funny additional bit and absolutely not trying to cast shade on anyone's replies, but my service advisor at Boulder Toyota is a woman and her name is Audrey... And she's awesome!

Is this something which will be resulting into a Service Bulletin?

There's a TSB that just came out two days ago. There's a sticky thread on it.

Looks like people with the new TSB update to the logic of their transmissions have fixed most if not all the problems that people have been having with their trannys. Good to know.

    .
My guess is there will be several transmission software updates through the next few years.
