Body Lift anyone?

Hey is anyone running a 3" body lift with also either a 3" or 6" suspension lift?

I just wanted to hear good or bad things that people have experienced with body lifts driving just for street or also mudding/off-roading. Also any pics would be nice. thanks

 

my friend has an 05 with one and he loves it. his setup is 33s with 20's it looks the same as a 6 inch suspension. the only downfall is you can see the frame on the sides, and the front skid plate

 

o im not worried about seeing the frame since ill be welding sliders on the sides that will be connect to the frame on the sides...

 

im just wondering if i can run my 3" suspension lift right now with a 3" body lift and replace the metal parts with grade 8 parts and run 35's still until i can add my full 6" suspension lift and 3" body lift...anyone doing this

 

If you are adding sliders to your rig- I'm guessing you wanna do some wheeling. And the parts for for body lift are no designed for that kinda stress. They look good enuf on the street- but wheeling something like that can be really dangerous.

 

yea man if your going to be wheeling, your adding the extra height but not the clearance. you probably hate to hear this but your not going to treating the truck right, or getting the performance wheeling with the body lift. sure it looks great. but either stay safe and wheel hard or go all the way and dish out the dough.

can u fit 35's with the RCD 4.5inch lift? i know that is a good one too.

 

im not gunna be rock crawling or anything....the sliders are gunna be used more as a step and protection just in case when i go mudding

 

Yeah...If you are going offroad at all....Don't do a body lift. Those mounts are not designed for that kinda stress.
Take what you get with a 3 inch or wait for the 6....

 

No need to get Body Lifts... Mud will put too stress on the spacers if your hitting them fast... They will only cause more problems

 

Go with the REAL lift and save your self the money (after the body lift).

 

doesnt look bad but gonna hook up n fab nerf steps to hide the frame a lil better, but if u do it definately get gap guards!!!

BUT i would not put a body lift on my truck. hell no.

Most i'd go is 1".. not a big fan of the gaps below the front bumper.. Do you have to remount the rear bumper, or how does that work?

Personally, id throw the 37s on before adding this. May be able to get away without having it since you've got spindles. Id start there and then add BL if needed for more clearance

 

Had a 82 Toyota pu 6” lift 3” body ran 38s and 529 gears, had 93 Toyota 4” lift 3” body ran 35s and 488 gears 4 wheeled the dog meat out of both of those, never had a body mount come loose or break. Why all the fuss?

 

What kinda trouble involed with bumpers wiring extending chet

 

The kits I had on those came with brackets for the bumpers to take care of the gap created. Any wires issue I just fabricated brackets to lengthen as needed. On the new trucks the steering shaft to rack may need to be lengthened. Had to on both my trucks.

 

I'm trying to get 37s to fit I already have 6" lift thinking about doing 2" body lift
