Someone correct me if I'm wrong but with the 5100's you don't want to adjust them (leave them at 0" setting) if you're using aftermarket coils/springs. The coils will provide the lift. You only want to adjust the height of the 5100's if you're using your stock Toyota/TRD springs.

You are correct. Most vendors advise you to not go over the first setting of .85" lift with lift coils. It can sometimes be needed to level out the truck. It will also preload the spring and make for a harsher ride.

Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Front set @ 0 with OME 883x coils. Alcon leaf springs. Viper Alarm. Wet Okole seat covers. WeatherTech Floor liners front and back. Oem Toyota chrome exhaust tip. ARE Shell. America Outlaw Wheels.
OP I did the 5100s set at 0 with the 883's and it leveled me out prefictly. Leaving the back stock . But I am a prerunner. You being a 4x4 you would won't to go 884's . If you plan on doing nothing out back . You are going to want to go with new coils if your going to do it. Just remember to do the 1/4 in spacer on the driver side for the driver side lean . Hope this helps .

Looking at possibly putting on 5100's @ .85 on the front stock SR5 springs and I have a 3+1 rear leafs on my 2012.

Any pics of similar (non OME or AAL pics)?

This is my plan, other than I may put a 1/2" spacer in the rear to keep some rake.

For now I have my 5100s set on 1.75 on stock sport springs and I love the ride. I will be bumping up
To 886x with arb in the near future or do like @K.Ray did with 885x with 5100. Undecided. K.ray do you have factory uca?

You will be dissapointed with .85 Go 1.75 and save yourself the extra trouble of switching. Be prepared to give ecgs Some dinero. Will need to take out that needle bearing and replace with bushing. I will help you with install if need be. I have the tool.

Yes, I run factory UCAs with 885x coils and 5100 set at 0" lift on the new double-cab long bed Tacoma. This nets me about 1.5" of lift with the ARB bumper and 10,000lb winch.

A few random thoughts.....884's are a slightly higher rate spring than "stock" coils. With stock and 5100's set for lift, you get a bit stiffer ride due to preloading those coils. With the higher rate OME 884's, you would get an even stiffer ride. Before I'd raise the settings on the 5100's X 884's, I'd put 1/2" plate spacers on top of the 5100's and leave the shock set @ 0". That would give you some lift and NOT preload the coils any more than they already are.

5100's are essentially the same shock as the "stock" TRD OR 4600 Bilstein shocks, save for being adjustable and having a different finish on the outside. Same internal valving. These shocks work very well with a reasonable spring rate close to stock and NOT preloaded into oblivion. With that, I do NOT like adjusting the lift settings on 5100's. Much more preferable to raise the truck with longer coils rather than preloading shorter coils IMHO.....5100's valving runs out of rebound dampening in short order if too stiff of a spring is used. This will result in a "jackhammer" effect when you hit bumps at speed. I had a fellow show up at my house one day wanting help with his rough riding '07 Tacoma. He had 886's (VERY stiff coils) set @ 1.75. The truck rode high and proud, but rode like it was on steel wheels. I helped him set it back to 0", and put 1/2" spacers on top of the shocks. Even that isn't recommended, but it drastically improved his ride. With expensive aftermarket UCA's he wasn't able to get good alignment numbers still, but seemed OK with that. (ended up with 3-3/4" of lift with a heavy front bumper)

I'm running 5100's, 885X's with 1/2" spacers. On the original install, I put a spacer on the left side (only) to compensate for the dreaded "Taco lean". That leveled me side to side. Not content to leave well enough alone, I went back in and added 1/2" to BOTH sides (in addition to the lean spacer on the left. Result was same ride but the front end is a full 3" lift now. I still have stock UCA's. With 2-1/2" lift, I got 2.9 positive caster with more adjustment left. Since adding the additional spacers, I'm @ 2.75 degrees positive caster (and stock UCA's) with adjustment almost at the end of its range. It drives excellent, gives me the 3" lift I was after, and didn't cause ANY alignment issues.

If you want to do it right the first time, pair the 5100's with the 884 coils that you already have. You don't want to take any shortcuts and pre-load the stock coils. It might be perfectly fine at the .85 setting but if you leave the shocks set at 0 and use the 884 coils to achieve lift you WILL NOT be disappointed with the ride quality. Best improvement I've ever made to my tacoma, I enjoy driving it every day, and I have stock UCA's. I don't see you needing to upgrade UCA's with 884's.
My advice, you already have the parts to do it right, so just do it and enjoy the outcome.

You might not have a problem with a vibration. I did and the ecgs bushing fixed it. The video on their website makes it super easy.

So you had vibes at 1.75? How much lift did you get out of that setting?

Yeh I did have the vibes between 35-45ish mph. It wasn't a harsh vibe but I could still feel it and about 4k miles later I finally
Got tired of it and did the bushing swap. I honestly didn't even measure before or after. I just know that the front is level if not Slightly higher than the back, but I'm due to get the TSB springs whenever they come in so that will give Me some rake back. I have the 3 leaf in the rear, with you having a 2011 you might have the 4 leafe pack??
