BOLT brand locks on 2016 Tacoma?

Wanted to buy the Bolt brand lock for my receiver pin but not sure if I can use it with the tail gate key?

Only have the smart key system in my truck so thinking the Bold brand lock may not work for a 2016. Does anyone know or has anyone tried with the tail gate key?

I have the Boltlock padlock version and tailgate key works.

 

I must be missing something, because my tailgate (2016 Tacoma Limited) key doesn't work. The hole in the bolt receiver (#7023584) is very small compared to the key.

Has anyone else ran into this?
