Just picked mine up today. I took it in Monday to see if they could fix the squeaking leafs/bushing but ends up they can't yet apparently but while it was there I told them to do the TSB and got it installed yesterday.

Thus far, it doesn't feel significantly different but the real test will be tonight and thought the week as I have a regular commute with a slight incline that makes it shift to 4th quite predictably every single day on my way home from work and then it will stay there for another half mile or so before kicking back down, that's where I'm hoping to see the change.

I had the TSB installed today, but to set the record straight I did not have to P to D hesitation or clunking issue, cruise control was a bit frustrating but it fit the mold out of the box with erratic shifting in the hills, and at low speeds..2nd to 3rd I would expect a delay and overall lack of smooth power to the wheels. I did average 21mpg combo city/highway driving.

Definitely not like the first 5000 miles I put on her or the test drive experience, from that perspective a huge diff.

Had the tranny fluid level check at my 5k, all was reported well.

After the flash, smoother power to the wheels, kinda felt like 1/2 ECT on at 0-45mph...no erratic or delayed shifting in lower gears, 0-30mph. Higher speed in hills and cruise control not so much downshifting and up again..back and forth thing...less enunciated.

I have not had enough time on pedal to draw a final conclusion but overall it is an improvement yet to be measured....a little caution execute here not to get hyped up and exasperate the placebo from the flash, thanks smitty for putting that out there.

Quick observation leaned towards a slight loss in gas mileage, how much over time TBD.

Is it a bad thing? no....just wish there was higher torque to go with that flash... time will tell, until then I feel better about the whole damn thing.

This post here is proof that people on this board know what the hell they are talking about, and nothing goes unnoticed, is why their are so many picky comments on the 2016. Damm good post ! Wow.

Find a post on the Ridgeline forum like this ! Instead they talk about the pretty console display.

I hope to get this taken care of this coming week. I'll be taking a 4.5 hour drive on the 24th, another 4 hour drive on the 28th, and then a 4 hour drive on the 31st. Also just put my 285/75 16 tires on so those 3 trips will be perfect to see how the transmission responds.

I am interested in this as well.

Some people have said the truck feels quicker off the line as well which is good.

Is this offered to anyone, similar to a recall, or do you specifically have to ask for it when you go in for service? I've had no problem with my truck shifting but if this "makes them better" is there any reason I shouldn't ask to have it accomplished?

If you look at the stickied thread with the tsb, there is a pdf that shows all the trucks affected with the VIN number, think it is like a 5 digit number started with the 4th digit, you would have to look.

I am curious to see if there are any trucks that weren't affected, but it seems like every tacoma with the v6 and auto are listed.

Go into your dealer with the tsb printed out if your vin is listed which I am sure it is.

I don't understand why dealers are giving people issues with them bringing the truck in...even if they can't duplicate the issue.

If the vin of their truck is listed then it needs to be fixed, end of story. I thought the dealers would be responsible for contacting the owners to bring their truck in to get updated...maybe it's too early since tsb just came out.

I could be wrong though lol.
