My 2012 with only 50,000 miles doesn't blow cold air off the rip but is plenty fine at highway speeds.
First Tacoma I've had where the A/C wasn't perfect. Tempted it to get it looked at cause Satan seems
to be bringing the heat this summer. :bananadead:

I learned some good info on this thread....im not good with AC systems, never have been. My AC has been acting up as well. It wont kick on when i start my car. it will only turn on when i put the fan on high and turn the AC off. Sometimes it takes longer than others. I know that it has never been serviced and has 155k miles. My first guess would be the clutch but im not sure.

I dont mean to jack your thread, but i guess its somewhat relevant.

Just to point out there are many excellent Auto AC Shops that are not Toyota Dealerships.

It amazes me that some people in govt. want to take away our guns, yet they allow these a/c suicide kits to exist. I'm all for the availability of refrigerant, just not all that excited about making it easy for unknowing people to destroy their a/c systems and possibly injure themselves in the process.

i've tried to my shifter looked at and they treated me with little respect. I also tried having them look at my alternator and again, treated like a child. i came while they were on break, i was told to come back in an hour, and when I did all the techs were busy and they asked me to make an appointment. I was pissed. so i went to an offroad shop where they put in an stp alternator which now whistles at 32-38 mph VEY VERY VERY annoying.
I will however give them another try and call in an appt. i wish i had my own shop!

totally man. that and all these false flag "shootings" and "terror attacks" are the cause of the gun grab. i'm going to message ac pro and say "hey, you suck man" [or something similar!]

I believe that it is every person's right to shoot themselves in the foot if they so choose. So for those times when *I* need a can-o-propane-refrigerant, I don't need it to not be available just because SOMEONE ELSE might not know what they're doing, and mess things up. You should not try to protect everyone from everything. Unless they're going to do something that is potentially DANGEROUS, then let them be. If somebody blows up their propane filled air conditioner, then they'll have an uncomfortable drive, but nobody is hurt by it.

While I'm not anti-gun, I can at least appreciate that the gun control advocates have the intention of preventing people (especially those who get shot by someone who owns a gun) from getting hurt. Think about it -- you can have some moron who happens to own a gun randomly shooting bullets out in random directions or up into the air, and I could be the unlucky one to be in the wrong place and accidentally get shot. But if that same dimwit wrecks his A/C, then there is no chance at all that this will have ANY impact on me, even if I do happen to be nearby.

hey while we are at it lets outlaw all power tools, lawnmowers, ladders and especially chainsaws. If not for 4 wheels ATVs would be outlawed because people push them too far.

Shooting a can of R134A with a large caliber gun is quite spectacular.

Or so I have been told. :)

Shooting a can of R134A IS related to A/C, though only briefly. ;)
