Hey everyone. This is my first post and I am super unfamiliar with all this so hopefully it goes well. I have been a member since I bought my Tacoma and I have read posts on this website all day every day it seems since joining. I love the stuff you guys are doing and there are some bad ass trucks out there.
Thanks for everyone that has posted tips and hints because they have helped me out a lot.

Idk if this is considered a "build" thread or whatever, I just wanted to show you guys my new Tacoma and a little bit of what I have been doing to it. I am expecting criticism for sure, and probably some sports trash talk haha

Thanks for checking it out, let me know if you guys have any suggestions or tips. We are all here to see trucks and the cool, crazy and amazing things that people do to and with them. This is just mine.

Painting the badges and rims are ideas I got off of this website, so all of you who posted about that process I am very grateful haha. I used the self etching primer, two coats, used scotch brite and steel wool after degreasing and washing with rubbing alcohol. Also used this website to find another website to get a new grill from, obviously grillcraft.com
The truck had one owner before me, he put a K&N Air Intake on it and had a Banks Monster exhaust system put on. This is the first time I had even heard of these exhausts but from reading on here it seems they're pretty common. I like the sound, sounds controlled and decently loud but you guys are definitely right about the cabin noise.
I want to get a small lift on it, maybe 3" idk, what do you guys think?
I want it to be noticeable but I dont want it to look ridiculous If you guys have any suggestions/advice I am open to all, I want to learn as much as possible.

Anyway, I love the truck. A buddy of mine has a first gen one and I have loved them since he picked his up. This truck is basically my dream truck and I am so happy to be the owner and part of the family haha thanks everyone!

    -Matt

Looks as if you are a working man ... tool boxes in cab and bed ... if your running mates are too big for the rear seats here's an idea ...

    73 minutes .... or so ....

I removed the back seats ... determined how high ... cardboard template ... covered with $19 K-Mart carpet ... secured with roofing nails ... Saturday morning project ... easy day.

I'm happy with my 5100's and 885 coils, but since you have an access cab you'd use different springs depending on how much lift you want. Budget will determine what is possible. Spend some time on the suspension page seeing what others have done. Headstrong Off road is my go to for this stuff. They're having a group buy starting today on overstock. Worth a look.

I got the same exact truck and I was in the same boat, i had a small budget so i went with a full ARB suspension. 886 coils with dakars in the back.

Do you mean OME suspension? 886's are good for you because of the extra weight of your bumper. 885's or possibly 887's would be better for him unless he adds the same weight up front as you have. Dakars are pricey, but always good in the rear though.
