Why do some 98-00 guys swap mirrors? What's the difference?

They are bigger and give a better view when reversing etc. I am getting a used softopper for now till I can afford a rack and RTT. So wanting the bigger mirrors to help with that. Probably will do the back-up camera mod as well. And I also just like the looks 0f the 01-04 mirrors more as well.

The 98 mirrors are much smaller.

From the pics of your rig josh, you have 01-04 mirrors already installed. The 01-04 are "taller" more of a square shape. The 98-00 are smaller and more of a rectangular shape.

Also, the 01-04 mirrors (non-electric) are adjusted using the glass, not the housing.
The housings, however, if hit with something, breakaway, and just snap back into place.
Not sure what the term for that style of mirror, but is one of the reasons I did that swap.

The first link had the bigger 01-04 mirrors as well listed but for chrome only...weird though the ones in this link say there for a 2000' but look to me the 01-04. Thanks for the help though.
