Just want to see who's really up for doing the trail on either Saturday or Sunday (open to camping if others are).

I've never done it before in my Tundra but I did all -- except one (the drop after the climb after the bowl) -- the Cleghorn offshoots just fine. Now I'm wanting to test it out on MJT.

    1) Spvrtan (Kris); '14 Tundra (4x4, ~6.5" lift, 37s, sliders, open diffs)

    I'm game for the 9th!

I've been dying to go back to MJT and reclaim my dignity.

However, not sure who else from the wonderful Wheelers Anonymous group is down to go. I'm trying to figure out what the plans are so hopefully we can push it this direction.

Man.. I would definitely go with you up there, but I'm concerned that you would take on too much damage. That and I would probably have to pull you through the toughest obstacle/s.

Really? What kind of damage would you anticipate?

You definitely want sliders for the MJT, and a locker...the auto LSD function that the Sport models have won't cut it on the MJT, at least from what I've seen.

I ran it with @MADSTEEZE last month, with no lift or sliders but my locker was able to get me through everything. I barely escaped without damage to my rocker panels though and swore I wouldn't go back without having some sliders and a lift put on. I ended up bashing my transfer case skid plate (thank god I had one) on a rock after a tough climb and pushed the skid into the t-case, making for some pretty gnarly grinding sounds the rest of the trip until I was able to get a shop to bend it back into place.

It's a really fun trail but it does put your rig and driver abilities to the test

edit: I should add, a locker isn't absolutely necessary but it helps a ton. It's still doable without one but I would make sure to go with someone else so you can get a tug if you need one, there are a couple spots where it would be very likely.

So, I have the same truck as you. The first time I did it, I had an open diff and no sliders, or steps even. I ended up getting stuck at the worst obstacle because of the open diff. Crushed one corner of my stock bumper and dented my passenger rocker panel. Pin stripes are also unavoidable if that's something you're concerned about.

Ultimately, I think we could do it. Would just have to strap you up in the crazier sections to get you through rather safe than sorry.

Great trail! Just teaches you your trucks limitations. Did for me.

That last video of me is where you can hear the exact moment my t-case skid took it's fateful beating, makes me cringe everytime....ugh, lol.

That's a great post with those videos @MADSTEEZE, definitely shows how much of a difference a locked diff makes.

Thanks for the vids! I see what you mean. I didn't know you could get locking diff on the sport?? I know it doesn't come stock, how and where did you get it?

Contact Eric at YotaMasters in Corona, CA.

They took care of it for me.

Also had @Yotamac sell me and install the ARB compressor under the hood.

In total, cost about $2360 and it is worth every penny!

That's a pretty penny indeed! But definitely worth it, aside from armor it's probably the single best off-roading mod you can do if you don't already have one. Plus with the ARB you then get on-board air which is something we TRD OR guys don't have :(
