how do you decide how far forward or back the front axle should be on 2nd gen? Is it preference?

It's primarily a matter of fitment of the components and preference to some extent... which in reality 'preference' is actually 'priority'. One spot might be ideal for allowing the diff to clear the oil pan at full bump and allow the overall COG to be lower, but won't work because the tires don't have enough room to turn lock to lock. Or one spot might be perfect for tires to turn lock to lock, but at the cost of fabricating some crazy shaped panhard. Things like that...

Then begins the slippery slope and one change leads to another... :anonymous:

Spent the entire weekend doing an allpro 3 link sas kit. It's less kit and more fab than should be for the price and the instructions for it are piss poor. just saying if you're going to sell a kit and have instructions make it worth the money.

Close, South Dakota. I hope to have 200 miles on it so the gears are at least broken in before leaving for my 1000 mile one way drive Friday!

That's almost worse than me. I was 480 each way with less than 5 minutes behind the wheel before leaving. And made it there and back with no issues #thankGod

lol, that's the way it always works right?!?! My wife's freaking out more than me, we are splitting the drive over 3 days to sight see so im not too concerned, and ill have spares/tools to fix just about anything that could break short of a weld failure on the highway. The guys i'm wheeling with are renting a house with a garage and will be bringing welders, chop saws, steel etc.. so if it breaks there wheeling it will get home!! 4 untested freshly rebuilt/built rigs, one more that breaks anytime it hits it the trail and one that's been properly shaken down, its gonna be awesome! I'm most concerned about highway manners, i had it up to 70 on a narrow bumpy two lane farm round and it was a bit sketch, but i think my toes out of whack. Hopefully that fixes it that or i will be cowboying up and riding the beast for 2000 miles of highway driving LOL!! I also could just be used to driving camry's for the past 4 months as well.

Sounds like my kind of trip. I live for the adventure waiting around the next bend, whatever it consists of, lol. Sounds like you need to get out the tape measure and get that toe set for sure.

I have never heard anybody said anything positive about that kit. Yet, it amazes me how people keep buying it lol.

For the price and the amount of tweaking it requires to make the allpro kit work, people are better off buying a generic kit from artec, ballistic, barnes, etc. Yes, lots of fabrication required but they are significantly cheaper than allpro.

If one has to tweak a kit that much, better get cheaper one!

I know right?? Just buy everything ala carte and start fabbing!! I think the only true kit that doesn't need to be hacked together and redone is the 4WU kit and i don't think they make one for the next gen tacos yet.

Just put it on leafs and have fun wheeling and spend the money on beer and gas:drunk::thumbsup:

    Leafs are for trees :D

The 4wu kit seems to be the most complete.

SAS on Leaf springs is certainly cheaper
