Good for you. I'mm in practically the same boat and will not leave that dealership without getting the proper service for this type of issue. Fucking fuckers is right bro.

 

I have appointment at 2pm. I printed the TSB and will be there soon

 

Let me know how it goes. Did you just call and tell them about the TSB and it needs to be done?

 

I also printed out the TSB (much appreciated ) and will bring it to the dealership at the 10K service, probably next month.

Then again, I'm not expecting too much as the service manager told me that they are awaiting 'special parts' to fix the shimmy in the hood due to the glue separation.

What 'special parts' are needed and why would it take 3 months (so far) to receive them?

 

When I brought my truck in for the hood issue they had to order "special kit" to fix it. Took less than a week. I'm happy with repair they did to the hood.

 

Had mine done 2 hours ago but haven't driven it enough to tell much. Will have more info tonight.

 

Dealerships were farming it out...
Another member said Toyota now has a kit for this repair...

I just called my sales guy, who I've known for while now. He referred me to guy in service that's good. I called and he listened for a while and took careful notes. I have appointment Wednesday morning first thing.

I told them I want ATF checked first.
Then TSB flash
Then the 40-50 mph howling noise, told them I'm not taping under my brand new truck, I shouldn't have to. He agreed. Unfortunately I get no rental, I'll be there for a good while. He said the transmission check alone takes almost 2 hours.

I'll report back after I get done. My truck has next to no miles and is still brand new, but am hearing the fk howling while coasting, slight transmission shifts.

 

Did everyone that had the TSB done get the Authorized Modifications Label affixed to the underside of the hood as indicated on page 4 of the TSB? I did not so now I am wondering if they simply reset my ECU and sent me home.

 

That is what I'm afraid of after not finding anything under the hood. At least work order states that they performed TSB.

 

Same here. No sticker but work order states they did the update.

 

Thanks - I'll try to hunt down the special kit info and ask a different dealer to order one - I moved away from the area where I bought my Taco and the local dealer is "less than impressive"... I'm being overly polite right there....

 

I put in an electronic appointment last week. The guy didn't care about the TSB and said the TSB doesn't apply to all models and that its not supposed to up shift when cresting a hill. We'll see what happens. I can go to any other number of dealers within 5 miles if they don't want my warranty moneys

 

I just called my dealer and was informed that there is not a tsb on my truck even though the vin is included in the tsb posted.

 

Call corporate and gave them find you a dealer who will recognize the TSB

I will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon.
I have no doubt about mine.

Rick.. I think the pic of where they are supposed to place the sticker is under the engine cover.. not ON the hood... It's so new the Dealers may not have ordered the stickers yet, either...

Same here. Work order indicates TSB was applied and there definitely is an improvement, in particular the lag between reverse and drive is completely gone now.
