But the assumption was that they put the decals on the truck....like it was done on purpose to be deceptive. Maybe they did...maybe they didn't. Customers do all sorts of things to vehicles while they own them. We see silliness around here all the time. Point is...not every discrepancy is a deliberate attempt at deception. Could've been traded in that way.

I actually tried not to assume anything about it. I asked the guy and he said it was traded in like that. I know folks do weird shit to their vehicles all the time, I'm one of them. :D

Yep, just like the Tundra I saw the other day that had Ford 4x4 stickers on the bed. Since I have owned Fords I recognized them right away and thought weird. Most people said so what as long as it was a 4x4.

I take dealers knowledge of cars with a grain of salt. Sales is just that, sales. I would think most are not car/truck junkies therefore they have no idea what they are selling. They just want to make a sale and get their commission check.
Also, my wife's uncle has been in the car business his whole life. He owns his own dealerships. I told him I was doing a head/cam/intake swap on my 1988 Mustang and he had no idea what I was talking about. Again, this guy has been around cars his whole life. He can close a deal, but he doesn't know anything about them other than what it says in the brochure.
