My money is on @MADSTEEZE to be the first to have an airbag go off dune jumping.

I'm always slow lol. I've never been big on the idea of taking a corner fast at the same time as someone else on a narrow trail or blind hill....I over-analyze and worry too much most likely. It's the recovering catholic in me

 

I'm thinking of leaving work early that Friday (19th) and trying to make it up there before dark to set up camp...anyone else doing the same?

 

I'm going to try do get up there early as well.

My suspension is the furthest thing from built to handle go fast, let alone dune jumping. These cheap shocks only "get by" because I mob rocky trails and not whoops.

At Pismo you can go slow or fast, biggest thing to worry about it everyone else. They rent quads and little dune buggies, tons of dirt bikes are riding around, and plenty of vehicles as well. People don't regularly spot their landings, so they'll jam up a dune and jump right into you if you're not keeping your eyes open. Watch for the flags, keep your eyes open and you'll all be fine.
The dunes drop off pretty quickly and it's hard to see the definition in the sand at some spots so keep an eye for that as well. I dropped off one on my dirtbike once which wasn't fun.

How are you guys attaching your whips to your trucks? Was thinking some kind of a bedrail clamp with a whip/flag mount would be the best bet...

 

I'm still sort of lost with this one too.

I'm having a hard time finding ways to attach it securely to the truck though, @eccracer104 did you just wedge it between the tailgate and the side of the bed (where the tailgate shuts)?

 

Also remember that the flag has to be a minimum of 6"x12"
