Any of you guys worry about poisonous snakes (for you & your dog) when you bird hunt ??

A long time ago I used to bird hunt in south Georgia, but the snakes got so bad, I quit.

I do NOT like snakes and have had some close calls in my life.

Yes I worry about it. I put my dogs through snake avoidance training every two years and try to avoid areas known to be 'snakey'. Then of course there are badgers, porcupines, barbed wire... All sorts of fun.

I keep a pretty well stocked first aid kit with me, lol.

Great looking dogs!! We completely stumbled upon ours. She was in an abusive house in the middle of CA. No idea where she originially came from but she was in the pound for most of the first 2 years of her life. The owners hated how hyper she was so we were pretty excited. Never had or heard of Tollers before but now I dont want anything else. Best dog I have had and a real companion like you are saying. Thanks for sharing!

About 140 miles north of Boise, above McCall. Would've been a lot nicer if it didn't rain the time we were up there.

Do you need to know, or care?
Couple questions if you don't mind...Did you do any suspension upgrade to carry the extra load, and if so, what kind of upgrades? Second question, do you notice it top heavy with more body roll or do you feel it's fairly stable? Of course, that would depend on the suspension upgrades but that's why I'm asking.

In terms of suspension upgrades - Timbren SESs (work great!) and the previous owner of the truck redid the leaf springs and rear shocks. You can certainly notice the camper going over any bump (feels like something is pulling the truck backwards - all weight at rear), but otherwise it is fairly stable ride. When I took it down to Waterton last week it was fairly windy with lots of rain - really didn't affect ride at all.

Must not be hot -n- humid like it is here in southeastern Illinois. You would never be sleeping in a truck bed with a cap on it for sure.

We only slept in it during the dark hours... We had to go into town for an extra blanket, it was that cold at night. Once the sun started coming up, it was like a sauna. Didn't need an alarm clock to wake up on time, that's for sure.

Here are a few tent camping pics from this season.

This coming weekend I get to try out the new camper!!! I love tent camping and will still have multiple weekends a year in my tent but this will allow us to get out more.

Saw that 2nd picture and thought "Don't roll out of bed", then scrolled down and saw not quite on cliff edge. :)

Big Sur is one beautiful place to be!
