    Which would work if you drove your truck til it stalled from running out of fuel.... Here's fuelly.com, open an account and track at least three fill-ups. Don't top off, just let the pump auto shutoff. At you'll want a larger sample than that to get an mpg reflective of your vehicle. Mine varies by about 6 mpg's and I'm the only driver.

    I use fuelly too, mostly because I'm just curious. I average in the 18 range...

    "Right of Passage" for new Tacoma owners:

    Step one: Get a lift
    Step two: Get bigger tires
    Step three: Complain about gas mileage

    Its summer now, are you running your AIR CONDITIONER?
    I find that my air conditioner costs me about 3 miles per IMPERIAL gallon.

    Buy one of these (its hard to beat the price... $7);
    https://www.amazon.com/Version-Bluetooth-Multi-Language-12Kinds-Android/dp/B00N2K6M2A

    Install this on your phone;
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torquefree&hl=en

    And learn how the vehicle responds to things like A/C and driving style.

    With torque, you can set displays for average and instantaneous MPG. While the displayed values may or may not be perfectly accurate, they can give you an idea about how the vehicle behaves.

    Also, as others have noted, don't forget to account for how much further you travel per wheel revolution!

    I had a stock 2014 sport and I only saw 20 once on a road trip. Other than that I was lucky to see 17 mixed.

    The ratings on the sticker are for stock and under optimal conditions.

    As others stated, the bigger tires are causing your odometer to be inaccurate. You are actually driving farther than it says and you are dong better than 12-13 mpg.

    I've had a 2007 DC 4X4 since new. For normal everyday driving I usually get 17ish. On interstate road trips usually 19.5-20. On some hilly stretches with lots of downhills to coast down I've gotten 22 before.

    Generally bigger tires, with more aggressive tread patterns will cost you about 2-3 mpg.

    I was getting 18 stock for a 06 4x4 DCLB. But with a lift and arb bumper and winch and installed aftermarket wheels and 265s I'm getting any where from 11 to 12 in the city to 18 highway depends on the speed. If I do 65mph I can get 18.4. But doing the speed limit 75. I get 14mpg.

    I've noticed if you keep the RPMs below 2000 it makes a huge difference.
