By the sounds of it your truck is defective. You should search out the TSB and take it back to the dealer you bought it from before those ruts pull you into a curb. You wouldn't want to curb a rim:facepalm:

I have the same tires as you (LTX Defenders) and it's the tires. They seem to follow ruts on certain sections on the highway. I did not notice this with my stock Toyo A30s or the Yokohama Geolandar G015s I had on the truck as well.

It feels like the wind is blowing the truck around.

I'm getting ready to put on a set of K02s.

Can't you move over a foot one way or the other? I don't think it's tires. It's the nature of ruts.

Isn't it the point of the steering wheel to prevent this?

Well then in my experience, they are not really ruts. Just highway grooves. The Defenders just has a strange sensation not felt on any other tire i've had.

I had LTX defenders on my last truck before the tacoma. Never had any wandering issues.

The wandering or wanting to pull me left and right on the highway was one of the first things I noticed about the Tacoma. Although it isn't severe enough for me to care or notice it much anymore. I don't think it's tires, the LTX defenders were great pavement tires.

We have serious ruts in our paved roads everywhere due to the wearing caused by studded tires. When wandering into them or trying to get out can be an adrenaline rush going hi way speed. Don't know why they continue to allow them. Seem to be the width of a subaru. I just try to drive on top by moving over a foot.

Overloaded semi-trucks cause the ruts around here. They closed most of the weigh stations

pretty sure you are correct. Heck, if there aren't any ruts, they will follow the curvature of the road. If it's flat, it won't wonder, if it's curved, it'll want to go to the low side.

You can add more negative caster and toe to help combat "wandering"

Trucks cause them here too..... part of our issue is the soft soil under the roads. When I lived in Middle Tennessee, there was rock two feet under the dirt.... those roads were nice.

What he said. I would guess alignment. Some shops get them in spec and good to go. Others try to shoot for the middle of spec. Big difference
