For all the hate on the 3rd Gen Taco's, you might want to check out site called car complaints.com if you haven't already. Look at all those 2nd Gen Taco's on there. Specifically '07, '09, '06, '11.

I think regarding the transmission issues for us 3rd Gen drivers, it's so damn early still. Sounds like for many this minor TSB is correcting much of those complaints.

    Thoughts?

Also, some of you have or had the year models I mentioned above. For the most part, minor. Other than a few real issues like rusted frames, much was bs. Some of those same year models still bring in good money.

Edmunds is far more damning of the 3rd gen IMO. If the complainer crowd is truly the loudest the 2016 has over 120 reviews with only 3.5 stars. The 2015 and 2014 have something like 10 TEN reviews and a solid 4 stars. GMC Canyon has 10 reviews 5 stars. Colorado has something like 10 reviews and 4 stars.

So where are all the complaints on the 2nd gen and GM twins for Edmunds

i just checked edmunds.com and... i'm not defending either but...

i think one has to add up ALL variations of the models to get a true sense of overall ratings.

i'm not defending but the Canyonrado from 2015 - 2016 is at 3.5 stars average (all variants collective scores) and the 2016 taco at 4 (all variants collective scores)

there's also over 500 responses (all variants collective scores) for both the 2015 - 2016 Canyonrado and 2016 Taco

also, have to assume that fleet buyers aren't going onto forums. toy-usa on average, holds back on fleet sales more than GM.

there's many ways to slice through the data...

but still, toyota obviously needs to make some corrections.

Any jack ass can go on edmunds and leave a crappy review just like people do with rival restaurants, stuff on Yelp. The Colorado is a plastic piece of crap. I test drove one and wasn't impressed at all. Also, I never mentioned the '14-15 taco. The older ones I mentioned have plenty from better sources, he'll even consumer reports.

Right but why so many for the 3rd gen vs other 2016 models?

I'm thinking way more Tacos sold, volume. Taco owners have much higher expectations than GM

And they're all complaining? Whereas the few that comment on the other makes are leaving more positive reviews ?

They aren't all complaining. Many of them are happy. The negative comments always seem to weigh more, just like restaurants. This is why places really want good reviews, because the negative reviews weigh so heavy.

I read many of them, main negative comments were regarding the transmission again. So, like I said, if this tsb is a fix and from what many are saying sounds like it is, many of those 2-3 stars go up.

Man it'll get real quiet around here when all the complaints are moved to a different site.
