This is my comparison of the Fembots and "Ex_ Machina", so please don't click that "SPOILER" below, unless you have seen "Ex_ Machina".

One thing the Fembots and "Ex_ Machina" have in common is they have no love for men and don't know which death is worse. They both disguise their intentions, so maybe they are not just "hot/sexy", but "deadly hot/sexy". ;)

That says everything that needs saying about the movie, so it's a definite watch for me and on my list of movies, so bad they are good. You can tell if a movie is trying too hard to be bad and those are hard to watch, which make them a bad-bad movie.

Most "bad" movies I won't finish but I actually didn't want The Room to end. I would post a trailer but it shows the entire movie in 2 and a half minutes.

Thanks, I have started looking at the likes vs dislikes on the Youtube trailers, because more and more movies are doing just what you stated. I like to get a feel for a movie, but not ruin it will spoilers, so thanks for not showing the trailer.

Just looking up some info on The Room.
Here is a Rotten Tomatoes review:

Critics Consensus: A bona fide classic of midnight cinema, Tommy Wiseau's misguided masterpiece subverts the rules of filmmaking with a boundless enthusiasm that renders such mundanities as acting, screenwriting, and cinematography utterly irrelevant. You will never see a football the same way again.

    I gotta see it!

This might be mean to say, but there is something special about a movie where, you can see the actors trying really hard to portray their roles, but it's just not working/believable, then a drama turns into a "dark comedy" like in "The Room".....like theatrical poetry in motion, it like gold.

    D10? :D

“I have an idea for District 10, which is really cool” Blomkamp revealed. “The problem is I feel like Chappie is the end of three films that have a similar stylistic approach to them. Chappie is the odd one out in that is has no socio-political underpinnings. It doesn’t have my experiences as a kid in South Africa incorporated into it. And Elysium – although it doesn’t have my experiences as a kid in South Africa, it has the same notion of oppressor in the elites, and the large population base beneath it. And Chappie doesn’t, but they are still part of a trilogy. So moving forward I would love to realise this idea of District 10 – I have every intention to do it, I just need to find the right time to do it – to not go back to Johannesburg and shoot something similar, yet.”

Then, somewhat surprisingly, Blomkamp admitted that said idea is a completely new one, and that when he finished District 9 he had no clue where the story was heading.

He's currently working on the next Alien movie so I'd bet it would be a while before we get a D10. I hope he gets around to it :fingerscrossed:

I started watching Ray Donovan. I like it. I'm very slow when it comes to television. One day, I'll probably watch Breaking Bad. I watched the first episode, have never felt the need to watch the second.

I watched probably half of the first season of Ray Donovan and then gave up on it. Just didn't love it enough to keep going.

I was late to the BB party. Finally started watching it about mid-way through the final season. I got hooked and finished the entire thing before the series finale aired though. It's slow to start but so worth it!

I do too, and I like most of Showtime's shows as well. I don't know if I got bored with it or just fell behind too much by watching other stuff. That happens a lot, I'll let a show record a few episodes before I watch and the next thing I know I'm 10-12 episodes behind and can't make myself commit to watching anymore :notsure: (Better Call Saul is one of those currently wasting space on my DVR).

On the Showtime point, Shameless (US version) is a great show. William H. Macy plays an excellent character that you have to love but hate. I think it just got added to Netflix (the first 4 seasons). It's worth watching if you like comedy/dramedy/and of course, boobs...

Just watched "400 Days". Starred Brandon Routh and Dane Cook. Talk about a mind-fuq...

It was basically an extremely cheap version of 2001: A Space Odyssey or Moon, maybe even Sunshine. One of those alone in space type mind benders. Ending leaves you thinking and man I hate how it messes with my mind. IMDb has some pretty terrible reviews but if you like that type of movie it's not that bad. I wasn't bored for the 97min of it.

I guess I'm just a Sci-Fi fanatic, so even though the acting wasn't the best, I enjoyed the "mind-fuq" :frusty:. Unless you have seen "400 day", don't click the SPOILER tab below.

It was kind of weird that all the strange things started to happen after Dr. Emily McTier started giving those "injections", which according to Cole Dvorak they weren't supposed to be getting. While I was watching this movie with the astronauts 400 days together, all I could think about was how someone like Scott Kelly would've handled it. Scott Kelly was so disciplined in his 365 days in space with that other astronaut and here you have one guy hitting on the DR., another just broke up with the DR. and they don't seem the type to spent a week together, never mind 400 days. I enjoy movies that do make you think, like this movie and "Ex-Machina", which leaves your imagination to finish the ending

This sounds like a movie worth checking, when it hits the theaters.

Alex Garland, the writer of Dredd, 28 Days Later and director of Ex Machina, is currently finishing his next film, Annihilation. It’s based on the famous scifi novel of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer and though it’s not expected to hit theaters until next year, a few behind-the-scenes photos show the movie is going to be seriously beautiful.

In 2014, Paramount Pictures acquired rights to the novel with writer-director Alex Garland set to adapt the script and direct the film.[18] In May 2015, Natalie Portman entered into talks to star in the film.[19] In November 2015, Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez is in talks to co-star in the film with Portman.[20] In March 2016, it was announced that Oscar Isaac will be joining the cast of the film.[21] Garland revealed to Creative Screenwriting that his adaptation is based on only the first novel of the trilogy, saying, "At the point I started working on Annihilation, there was only one of the three books. I knew that it was planned as a trilogy by the author, but there was only the manuscript for the first book. I really didn’t think too much about the trilogy side of it."[22] Location filming by Lighthouse Pictures Ltd occurred starting in late April in South Forest, Windsor Great Park.[23][24] Lighthouse Pictures have a charge arrangement registered with UK Companies House regarding this matter.[25] Production was confirmed to begin when actor David Gyasi was added to the cast.

Annihilation is a 2014 novel by Jeff VanderMeer. It is the first in a series of three books called the Southern Reach Trilogy. The book describes a team of four (a biologist, an anthropologist, a psychologist, and a surveyor) who set out into an area known as Area X. The area is abandoned and cut off from the rest of civilization.[1] They are the 12th expedition. The other expeditions have been fraught with disappearances, suicides, aggressive cancers, and mental trauma. The novel won the 2014 Nebula Award for Best Novel[2] and the 2014 Shirley Jackson Award for best novel.

Anyone a fan of the new Star Trek films? I've thoroughly enjoyed them and plan on seeing the new one. I just read they greenlighted a 4th one with Chris Pine set to return. It also confirmed Chris Hemsworth will be featured as well. Hemsworth played Kirk's father in the first film (apparently in the 2nd as well, just saw that on IMDb. I don't remember that) in a very brief cameo (this was before he made it big as Thor...).

Watched The Brothers Grimsby over the weekend. Laughed out loud so much. But I enjoy this type of movie so that was going to be a given.

Also re-watched The Witch hoping it would be better but it wasn't.
